As reported by Pappy on Primitive Archer, earlier this week Gary Davis had a severe stroke, and his mobility and speech are impaired. There are very few details at this time.

Gary has been an icon in the traditional archery world for over 30 years. His self bow blanks and instructional classes have introduced many of us to to the passion of crafting our own equipment. He was a staple at many of the shoots in the north east including the Tennessee Classic, Marshall Michigan, Elm Hall, ETAR, and Hawkeye Bowmen. His unique style of teaching would guide you through the process of tillering osage. He would often time sprinkle in life lessons and engage in banter over his political views.

Please send your prayers and positive thoughts his way for a speedy recovery.

Lord please help Gary to overcome his condition. We ask that you heal him and restore his health and if not fully restored then please provide enough grace so he can see you at work in him and are showing mercy. We cry out to you Lord for your healing hand on Gary.

First met him at Michigan Traditional Bowhunters Jamboree, Hanson Hills, Grayling MI. He spotted me walking by with first selfbow. He stopped me out of the blue.
