I'm looking at buying a Selway. I do most of my hunting as stillhunting and stalking, but sometimes sit in stands and groundblinds. It seems like they'd be a better fit for my style. Usually, I've used a bow mounted kwikee, or the cheapo kwikee on the walk in, then remove it while sitting in the stand. If I get a selway I'd leave it on.

Have they affected your tune; if so how? Do you get fletching noise or other noise at the shot? Sell me on one. I'm looking at the slide on recurve that 3rivers has.

Thanks

I have a Selway slide on on my Kodiak Magnum and have never had any issues with it. It's quiet on the shot and rock solid. I always leave it on the bow.

Didn't effect my tune. If you are going to keep switching quivers buy cheaper ones. If you want one to last get a selway. I have had the same one on my bow since the 90's.

I have both the slide on and strap on. Over time and use, it seems to me the strap on seems quieter and stays in place better. But mine is just one opinion.

I wanna buy once, cry once. I'm a major penny pincher so I'm having a hard time justifying the $. I just someone to justify it for me. lol

Thanks for the info. What do you guys use for a case once it’s on there? I usually use a sock. I was thinking if I get a quiver building a hard case from plywood.

I bought a used 3 arrow slide-on Selway a few months ago and I love it. They are a great option for vintage bows with no way to mount a quiver. If you’re a penny pincher I’d look for a used one. They show up from time to time, but be ready, because they don’t last long.

Strap on is far more versatile. Easily switched between bows and if you get in tight blind or need to tree hug a shot from a stand you can take it off.

I've found Selway's to be quite heavy for short bows. I know there's a following for them but they just don't suit me. Frank

I have 3 slide ons, i like them alot I've not used any of their other models. They sometimes have a dampening effect as well on a bow, depends on the bow. If im traveling i take mine off to take my bow down, they aren't to hateful to get on and off. Especially if you use a little water, especially on the edge of the limbs.

That's a trick i saw in a video with the original owner. All my quivers came from the Kolhoffers who now own the business, they are great folks, and no im not sure I spelled their last name correctly lol. All in all i don't think a person could go wrong with a Selway in my own opinion and experience.

I've got a longbow and a recurve slide-on and a recurve bolt on. Love 'em all. Had them since the early 90's with no issues at all.

Grizbo's "water trick" was originally shown to me by Gordy Mickens at ETAR where I bought my first one. He took my bow, dipped a paper towel into a cup of water, wiped the limb edges, and slid it on effortlessly. He then had me do the other limb dry, then wet, to see the difference. Once in position he said, "The only problem is once they're on, you can't get 'em back off. Looks like you're definitely buyin' 'em!" We all had a good laugh and I paid my money. Great guy and great quivers.

I use the slide on quite a bit.Very secure, solid and quiet.Very good fletch clearance.

I got the mini size rawhide on a few bows and the full size original on one bow.

The mini has a smaller footprint and is lighter. Will hold 4 arrows easily with plenty of broadhead and fletch clearance.I think it would do 5 as well with a 5 arrow gripper.

I have the strap on version. (you said strap on...). If anything it makes my bows quieter. Just rotate the arrows so the fletchings don’t buzz against one another on release. I usually practice with it on.

I have a slide-on on my longbow I’ve used for years. As said above, slide down past riser fade outs so it won’t effect the working limbs. Super stable and quiet. I use a Kathy Kelly soft unstrung case that zips up around the quiver, protecting the bow but leaving the quiver on the outside. Happy with both products.
