Just received my handmade turkey call from Larry Marshall out of Martville, NY. He builds beautiful slate calls and I love the purple heart striker. Price is $45 shipped to lower US.

Looks just like the ones I made many years ago.

Don't you hate it when old people tell tales of what THEY did regarding the topic at hand? Many, many years ago I cut down a dead cedar tree and went to work removing wood until I had a box and lid to use as a turkey call. It worked! The finished box had thinner wood than a store bought call, which resulted in a higher pitch than I wanted. But it worked! In the autumn mountains of Virginia, turkeys will come to not-so-perfect calling.
