My quest for the perfect bow is over. I have more than enough of them that I shoot well. My quest for the ultimate turkey call continues. I got this one the other day, the most I have spent on one yet. Sounds great to me, we will see how the birds like it in a few weeks. Who has used this call, or still using it? What are your experiences?

I have a bunch of turkey calls. I got a few different box calls, slate calls, slate trough calls, aluminum trough calls, wing bone yelpers, trumpet calls, scratch box calls, diaphragm calls. The Lynch World Champion box call in the picture I've been using since my Dad bought it for me in the early 1970s. But I have to admit my favorite turkey call is my Ben Lee Super Hen which is an aluminum trough call.

Here are two of my favorites, Smith box call and a Lynch box call. I usually use a mouth call and a box call to sound like two birds. I use excited yelps and cuts with both calls like two birds ready to rumble. When I get a Gobler responding I quit calling and wait him out. Hell either come in or move on. Hope this helps.

Best to have a bunch you never know what kind a mood he’ll be in. I do have a preferred call but when it fails then it’s time to break out the arsenal lol

I rely on having a slate with multiple strikers and a GOOD box call. My favorite box call is the Lynch Foolproof like you have there. I have several but that one is my favorite.

I plan on just using my own.

I don't know much about turkey hunting and have very few on my land. I was wondering is there a time when you use a turkey gobble call?

Mine is best..homeless hen of 2010.box call i made.gave away a few on here

Lynch's Fool Proof was the first turkey call I purchased about 1982. Called in my first gobbler with it a few years later. Could walk for miles on public land and not see or hear another hunter in those days. Turkeys weren't nearly as educated either. That call does a great raspy old hen assembly yelp. Can't tell you how many birds I called in with that call but it sure can fool a gobbler. Mainly use diaphragm calls now but a box is great for long distance. Really cuts through the morning air. Best of luck to you this season.

The beauty of the the Fool Proof is just that...it’s hard to make a bad call with it, and the calls it produces are very effective.

My favorite call is the Lynch foolproof I purchased in 1976. I play with other calls but the foolproof is the one that works the best most often. But on any given day another call or even a rusty gate hinge may be the only thing the gobbler will respond to.

grizzley21, that's beautiful. Here's the 2 I'll be taking out this season. Snake wood & Pecan. The other is Thin Win & Pecan. Both have excellent sound.

Should say Thin Win & Persimmon.

Hard to beat a Lynch. Truth is calls are not that important. I know guys that call em in with their voice. When they are ready you can bang two pans together

Peco, I hunted with the same Lynch Fool Proof for around 40 years and it was a very effective turkey call. The hole in the lid finally gave out and it did not sound the same so I retired it and bought a new fool proof to replace it. You should be happy with yours.

I have an old Lynch box call that still makes sweet yelps, purrs and clucks. I can even get it to gobble. One of the best calls ever made. Frank

Been using A Lynch Box since the early 70`s...Named her (Ole Faithful) just chalk her up, and let her do her magic!

I have one that I have been carrying since about 1990. I can’t say for sure which kills it is responsible for, as I tend to use a variety of calls. If you pinned me down though I would have to say I am a slate guy at heart; love the control a slate gives.

I still have and use the Lynch Fool Proof call I bought in high school in 1969. I have many calls, but this one is my "go-to." Maybe it's just me, but I wish they would have named it something else. Do you realize what we admit when we purchase anything labeled "fool proof?" :-(

From: hvac tech

Last spring i called two longbeards away from some other hens . I killed the one i used one of my slates and a mouth call . On any given day the mood a gobbler is in most any call might bring one in just not all the time . They are turkeys not a sure bet on anything .Calling is important but I know a guy that kills a lot of birds and is Not a good caller he is a a better at setting up.

"Maybe it's just me, but I wish they would have named it something else." Just think of it as "Fool Proof" as in if you use it, the bird is done.

I’ve got a couple of those Lynch calls. Great calls, but not “Fool Proof”. Lol.

They are “sweet” sounding calls!

Yea foolproof kinda a joke . The biggest fool is the guy thinking it is foolproof .

From: D.Lewis aka tonto59

You can use a wing bone from turkey to make a good call too.

hard to beat the Lynch World Champion. also hard to find them anymore. gonna buy 3 or 4 next time i see some. i've cracked the "hen" side on 3 (so far) raising hell/cutting on them. one of them sounds pretty good with lid swapped to use "gobbler" side of box after some sanding work.

I have a box call hand-made for my dad by local legend, "Louis Stevenson," in 1955. I would have been four years old then. Louie used to guide turkey hunters in PA's Canyon Country back when most people didn't have a clue that there were enough birds to hunt. He also began selling his calls across the state, mostly to his successful hunter clients, and then to locals.

I later went to school with a couple of his kids; he was a pretty neat guy to talk to. Very knowledgeable outdoorsman, but he kept his "secrets" close to the vest...VERY close. Smart Guy! :-)

We bought our current home in 1993, and right there in the deed is Louie's lifetime right to fish our pond, granted to him in 1948! Quite a character! Sadly, he had already passed about a month before we bought the property.

That's cool you still have the box call.

From: nowheels

It’s hard to beat the Lynch’s. I have both a foolproof and world champion, that I got from my uncle, but I probably use the WC the most. As many have said, most any call works if you don’t overdo it. I’ve also called dozens in just using my voice.
