OK, I am convinced nock collars work. I Robin Hooded one of my fellow shooters arrow this AM. We took the nock out and the collar came with it. Then removed my arrow. He put the collar back on the shaft with a new nock . The collar saved his arrow from being split.

Are you using the purpose built variety, or just making do? Many of my arrows have a quarter inch section of 2117 to beef up the shaft right there at the nock. They seem to be holding up rather well despite my somewhat adventurous style of shooting…

My friend uses the “store bought” variety. I hear you about using aluminum shaft material. I do it after I split the nock end but I epoxy it in place. I am thinking I should do it before not after the fact.

I hear pin jocks work very good also.

M60, twice they have saved my shafts they came on. I remember looking at those aluminum nock collars when I first bought the shafts and thinking ya, right, haha, what a joke. I had split aluminum shafts with walls much thicker than these thin things. For some reason I left them on instead of taking them off. The first time it happened I was simply amazed. The look on my face had to have been priceless.

Too bad I didn't have any on these. Two were on the same day. Fellas wanted pics of me with arrows. They asked me why I was angry...must've been the look on my face.

Please don't take that as angry at my friends, they didn't do this. Angry at me...these were "self inflicted"
