I mostly use B-50 strings on all my bows. But I really wasn’t interested in the little extra speed you get from a FF string. I’m more concerned but the bow is quiet and well tuned. Which do you self bow guy prefer and why?

Self bow should be quiet to begin with, to me ff is not worth the extra trauma to the bow. BUT one of my nicest self bows from a well known builder came with ff. it is all he uses?

D97 cause it stretches less, it’s quieter, and has less shock. That’s reason enough. Arvin

My Brad Smith osage was sent with a low stretch string, and many other selfbow makers use them. I currently have a Fast Flight plus on it that stilldub made for it. It's as quiet as any bow and it as Brad said, (paraphrasing) "why not get the performance out that is already in there?" It's had fast flight on it since I received it, and that was three years ago. It also has tiny tips....go figure eh? :)

I’ve used D97 for about 10 years on all my selfbows, and have seen no ill effects yet. Low stretch, quiet, and durable. Have seen no downside.

I have used modern low stretch string material for years on my selfbows. I've only seen benefits.

452x. Good performance & quiet. Was at a 3d shoot last weekend. One guy told me he couldn't believe how quiet my bow was. I will say selfbows are very quiet to begin with so I don't believe bowstring material makes much difference.

Best suggestion would be to try and see what you like. There's never a good reason to do something somebody else does just because they said it's better. Try both and see and go from there. B-50 will be around for a very long time yet.

PA Steve I argued with Rick Barbbe for a year about B 50 being quiter than fast flight. He finally got a decimal meter and proved me wrong.???? Two hardheaded Texans. ??????so that’s when I ordered my first D97. Two months later I gave 5 spools of B 50 away. That’s all true. Arvin
