I have not seen those before, but they look pretty neat. It looks like a PITA to put back in the bag though. lol.

I sometimes wonder how many different ways can be invented to climb a tree.

Took me a few tres to get the hang of it - pun intended - but once I got it I really like them.

I’m using a saddle and don’t climb high - like havin tools Togo to 10-14 feet in one bag and use what I need to get as high as I need or want.

I like them versus ladders and sticks

I have been practicing with the ones I bought my son-in-law. I am using a knaider and swaider but I am not sold on them. I will just use the knaider with them tomorrow and see if that is better. There is a learning curve to get them to cam over and seat tight. I bought a set of OOAL Shikars and I think that is how I am going to end up hunting with. Light and with a knaider and 4 sticks I get up to 19ft. If I need more I will break out the swaider. Shawn

I’ve had a set for a couple years. I like the Bullman steps better.

I have the originals, bought from Jim Stepp at the K zoo expo a few yrs ago. When you get the cam over figured out, they are very sturdy. And you can put both feet on one step. A bag of 10 stepps is not what I consider to be light weight though.

I gave them a fair shot and just didn't like them. If they are not set perfectly every time they are not safe imho! I sold mine and will be staying with one sticking, bolts, and regular steps like the Bullmans! I did like them for my platform because I ratchet strapped them down for that and that made them real solid. Some folks have got it down pat and they work great for them but I hunt to many different sized trees and just couldn't get them to where I felt safe.

I will say they are also not very big, I mean it don't see how you can stand on them with two feet. You can but not on the step part itself. They are 1# with the ropes. My son-in-law really likes them and I bought him a bag of 8. He carries 6 and uses two as a platform. Again the Shikars are for me but too each his own. I don't like the one sticking as it takes quite a bit of time. Light weight but I could care less about a few pounds. Shawn

I have 10 I think. I will use 1 or 2 to get off the ground for my LW climbing sticks. They are great if set properly. Not so hot if you don't do it right,

I actually have been using them for long time, got first ones from Jim Stepp the creator. Then just decided to get and extra set. I love them and use them all the time when hunting. I use a saddle and the "Caine method" works great. You cannot find a better ring of steps for a saddle hunt.

I'm also using these, modified with 1" webbing to replace the ropes. ^5 steps and and a knaider to 18 feet.

I bought a used set of Jim steps and received a knaider/swaider for Christmas from the kids. I think they are much easier to carry into the woods simply because they are more compact. There's a learning curve and more fiddle factor with them compared to my 30" hawk helium sticks but I like trying new things. I'm not sure on the swaider yet but the knaider is definitely getting used. Practicing in the dark will be the real test. The only other thing I've read is that you should make sure the straps are stretched out so attach them to the largest tree you'll hunt from and leave them on for a day or so. Good luck!

Just a heads up, a guy on the Rokslide classifieds has a set of 8 for sale. Looks like he had them for $80, but open to offers. Might be worth checking out.

The stepps come in a well designed bag, that I carry in my pack pack with saddle (though the strap on it works fine too). Once I get to the tree I hunt, I pull my saddle out of pack, then put few stepps on tree, then bag on over shoulder and up I go. I have not had to modify or do anything to them. The bag works great for keeping them quiet and easily put stepps back in bag. I have used and use the aider that he sale's as well, which is nice. I have not used an knaider, as had both knees replaced, but seen and talked with many guys who have and love it.

Stepps are the only way I climb anymore. There is no other system that is as solidly connected to the tree that I have found/used.

I use a DIY aider (3 step) and carry 5 stepps; 4 to get to hunting height and one additional one to run at the same height for a 2-step(p) platform. They are phenomenally safe.

The only way I would hunt out of my saddle with anything else is if someone gave me a red cape so I could just fly up to my saddle...

They are very legitimate; buy them.

FYI Genesis 3D printing has a bracket they make for Wild Edge steps, if bag isn't your thing. Good bow hangers too.

Ive got a set I don't use, (5-6 I think). hit me up if interested. I think they work great once you get the hang of them. and they make a great ring of steps. I'm just using other techniques right now.
