Plenty of good reads in archery history. Check out the Archery Library online.

Yes Sur I’ll be getting those books but I do wish someone would do a book on Mr Compton...... he is much more than a mention or a one page biography...... what would Pope and Young be without William Compton?

FITTER, find some old Ye Sylvan Archer magazines from back in the day...the magazine began in 1927. Pope was gone by then, but Young and Will Compton were still alive and some of their antics are likely in that magazine.

I imagine you have read this treatise, but I'll include it from the Hall of Fame. Will wasn't a doctor or an adventurer who got a lot of publicity but like many pioneers his fame came much later...after he had already passed.

I’ll look for them. I remember as a young man (a long time ago) reading issues of Ye Sylvan Archer...... hadn’t thought about them in years. Yes Sur I actually have that bookmarked..... I just think he has a much bigger and greater story even without hunting the world etc. . The Father of modern archery!!!
