Sorry to say, there used to be a fellow that frequented the site that went by the handle........uh.....Otto....I think......

Steve Otto was his name.

He had a collection of Widows....and Randall knives.....that would've paid for kids college tuition.

Or real close....I ain't kidd'n!

Yep....that was him.....I did a search on his handle and pulled up a bunch of old threads........

The XLA 40th Anniversary is probably the most sought after {post Wilson Brothers} model. There were only 101 made. That bow came with a belt buckle and cast.

Over the years I've had a number of Widows: X85, X95, X200, X350, etc. All of those were one piece wood. Now I only have their TD's: 1200, 1225, 1300, 2600. I'm not sure why I'm keeping them, although I have many other TD's, In my opinion, I've shot dozens of different bows thousands of times over the years and have always felt that Widows are stiff in the draw. I've found, for instance, that a 30 lb. Widow feels like 35 lbs. Hoyt's are similar in the draw feel. I don't have any experience with newer Widows. They say the forward handle, putting the limbs behind the wrist, decreases the initial draw feel, but I don't notice it. My Hit's, Dickies, Groves, and some others draw smooth as butter with little to no stack.

Check Ray Hill. Great guy to deal with.I have bought three metal riser take downs from him on the classifieds . He had fifty plus Wilson Brothers at that time

We're the early 1960s TF that are black in color and had yellow limbs made of micarta? Or were they painted wood to look like micarta. They have mass. Those TFs also have tapered limbs which is pretty innovative for a 1960 bow.

don't know what is the most collectable but I have probably the rarest one I guess since only one was ever made. Still in the box it came in. Was made for a drawing some years back and I happened to win it. A Wilson brother reproduction I think. Anyway forgot about it till now.
