They are different designs but which do you prefer and why?

You are right, different designs, and any given day I would pick either. They shoot differently also.

I have had both,love both,had the SK in the 60” and 64”,

I want another of each. Obviously two totally opposite bows but if I had to pick one it be the 59 but that’s not to say it’s any better.

In my opinion the 59 is sleek and Elegant , it’s light weight and smooth on the draw

The SK is a mans bow, bigger and stable in the hand due to the mass weight, not quite as smooth at my draw length but definitely pushes an arrow with authority

My 55lb@30” chronographed near 200fps (don’t remember the arrow weight)

That’s was my impressions of them but I am sure others see it differently

I have two of the new 59 Kodiaks and am really happy with them just recently picked up the second one as I wanted a lighter 35lb bow to work on my form with. I love both recurves and longbows the 59 almost seems like an in be tweener it is light and pretty quick.

Check out some of the online stores I got this one new in the box for $200.00 less than seen in the usual outlets.

Both are outstanding bows. If I had to chose one I'd chose the Super Kodiak because I just like the design better and the way it fits and feels in my hand. Matter a fact I own three Super Kodiak's. One 1997 model, and two 1972 models ( one of which is factory camo ).

59 Kodiak. Just fits me better.

I like the super Kodiak now that they arent light and dark. I never liked that look, but the new ones are stained one color on the riser. I was gonna get that bow but opted for the 50 yr TD. I like a riser that is more symmetric.

59er lighter, sleeker, lower grip.Shorter riser I believe.Might have more working limb length?I don't have 2 to compare here in that regard.

I have only had one Super K 60 incher and multiple 59ers in 60 and 64 inch lengths.

I like the 59er for a hunting bow?Combined with my bowquiver it feels good in the hand and has good enough mass for me to feel stable. But that's me.

Some will like one more thsn another.Ones not better than the other.Personell choice!Whatever you like more is the only important thing.

Are the 2021 Super Kodiaks made with a stained riser?

Thanks for the comments. I have a SK now and like it alot. I think that there will be a 59 in my future if for no other reason then the looks.

I really like the 64” super kodiak. I have 2. I’m surprised they aren’t more popular. You would think bear would make the 64” model every year

Have owned a couple of both. I like the grip on the 59 better. But like said above the SK is a heavier or more beefy bow that just feels bomb proof to me. Both fantastic bows and can’t go wrong with either but I would go with the SK if choosing just one.

Personally, I have a very difficult time making a choice like that. This is why I have more bows then I need but not as many as I want. Plus I am a huge Bear fan. Flip a coin, they are both great classic's and time tested.

For me it’s a grip thing. If you are talking new bows, I would go with the 59r. The one SK I shot 2 years ago had some hard edges on the grip that I didn’t care for, compared to the 67½ that I truly love, but that could have been the difference in the way two bowyers shaped them. After all, Bear is notorious for that kind of thing.

Both have their qualities but I’m going with the 59’ it gives up very little or nothing in performance to the SK. But is a piece of art. Compared to the mass produced look and average wood qualities of most SKs My 1960 is shown for reference of the wood qualities of that period.
