This year was rough. Didn't get to hunt at all. Between my week days staying home with my granddaughter as she went to school on the computer and my part time job on weekends, my time was sucked up. Have not even bought a license yet. On the up side I have traded for some good broadheads, wool, arrows and shafts, so I'll have things to do. Looking forward to the annual Granger Ranger Xtreme Hunt in February this year. Have a more reliable ride the year with a 2013 FJ which I bought from my brother at black book price. All the best to all!!!

It happens. Not a great year for me putting venison on the table that way this year too. My ankle is pretty much shot and have been waiting to see a surgeon for a long time now for an ankle replacement. Can't get in because of Covid. Need a cane to navigate on any surface now which isn't flat. Consequently, getting out in the swamp to deer hunt the way I like to do has been too painful, not to mention if I get one, trying get it out of there. Oh well, it was still a good year over all as I bought myself a new argo and was able to spend a fair bit of time at my cabin and in the canoe because of it. It is what it is.

On the plus side for you Wudstix, it sounds like you got to spend a lot of time with your Granddaughter. That's awesome!

Yawrp. Also, have some arrow building work piled up!!! Was able to get couple dozen arrows ready to fly with the heavier heads I'm using. Also, picked up couple dozen Snuffer 160's for lighter spine shafts/arrows.

Same boat here, didn't hunt a single day. Work was heavy, and covid made it heavier. What little time I had was committed, or spent with kids & grandchildren. I missed this year, but I'll do it every time if it means I would have to miss the kiddos, otherwise.

Thank you all for sharing on this post. I didn’t even get out in the yard to shoot much. Same as engine else. Work and other responsibilities. Been feeling pretty sorry for myself. Good to know I wasn’t an isolated incident.

Sorry you didn’t make it out, but that’s the way it goes sometimes. You’ve got your priorities in line, so you should take faith in that. I love to bow hunt, but that isn’t my whole life. It falls to the side quickly when family matters require attention. Thanks for sharing, many of us make similar choices. Good luck next year, whichever way you chose. You can’t lose.

Harder year than most for me as well… Got off to a bad start being sick, then my mother-in-law died, then the lockdown… All manner of drama, and at the end of it? Business as usual, pretty much. I will say that things kind of took off at work when people started buying online instead of going to the malls. That was certainly helpful.
