Got some of these shafts from a friend and getting ready to assemble. I regularly use and fletch plain old black Axis shafts which I rough up with 3M cloth and 91% isopropyl.

Don't want to use a wrap and don't want to harm the finish on these but want them to adhere well of course. Going to fletch with feathers on some and Blazer vanes on some.

What glue does the trick?

Hard to keep em on without a wrap

“ Hard to keep em on without a wrap”

Seriously?? I would think that superglue wouldn’t care one way or the other. And honestly, the tape seems to work pretty well on everything I’ve tried it with…

Dap rapid fuse or sanders npv are my choices.

I used fletch-tite successfully. I tried Gorilla super glue, worked, but made a gray haze on the finish. I think other CA glues might do the same.

3M pad, fletch tape, denatured alcohol.

We use thick ca glue or easton vane adhesive and only do feathers. The white/grey haze left behind is called blushing and can be wiped off.

The finish is hard! and scuffing it some helps. Wraps are even better.

If you wear the feathers out or damage them they will be hard getting off with out messing up arrow finish in my experience. A wrap is a hard to get off but saves the shaft. My arrows get refletched maybe a dozen times.

Tape is holding fine for me.

I only fletch woodies. Crowned I use Duco, plain I use Fletch- Tite. I've had no problems. Frank

I wonder if you wiped on a couple coats of waterbased Polycrillic if that would help? I put the stuff on my wraps as I crest them. But shouldn’t make a difference on bare shaft. It’s the poly the glue is adhering to.

May have to reconsider using a wrap on these shafts. My fletching is only 2-1/2 inches and the Blazers are 2.

Curious about the polycrillic idea too.

I have some tape (i've never used it before), have any of you tape guys ever used it on Blazer vanes? I know that's not a common fletch on Stickbow.

No big rush on this project.

I use tape on everything now with a drop of superglue on the front of the fletch, 3 years no problems.

I crown dip carbons in poly then use DUCO. Works great.

I haven’t tried tape on vanes as yet. The vanes I have a groove in the base to hold glue. Don’t think that would make a good surface for tape.

don't they make a clear rap?

Yes, I noticed 3Rivers has them. But I would get them from One Stringer. They only ask for postage for the envelope they use.
