One of my longbows has bacote veneers and a combo of bacote and wenge riser. look good to me.

Cocobola would look good or a spalted wood riser. DANNY

Birds eye maple if you can get some that is darker color even better . I made a lot of bocote and birdseye bows but usually birdseye limbs and bocote handle very nice together .

Birdseye would be pretty also. Check with Bellforest handpicks in Michigan. JF

Or Wenge combination, with Bacote JF

My best shooting bow is bocote veneers over bamboo with a bocote riser.

Ziricote, or Gaboon Ebony

I second Gaboon Ebony. Richard

Beautiful suggestions made. Gaboon sure would look great with bocote. But man, that stuff is pricey. I picked up some G-10 hoping to use it instead of a black ebony, but it's tough on blades and stinky, powdery, nasty stuff. I'd go with wenge.

I had a Dick Robertson Montana Falcon that had bocote limbs and a bocote riser. It was a beautiful looking bow.

I like cocobolo.

I've made them with bocote/bocote, and they were nice, but contrast brings out the bocote in the limbs better... like Bodymanbowyer's wenge above, or ebony, blackwood, katalox, etc.
