First introduced to the Thunderstick by fellow elkhunter's that shared the same mountains. I know Jim stopped making bows did he happen to pass on his knowledge on and forms to anyone. If not who makes a comparable bow now days. He sure had a big following in the 15-20 years ago.

I don't believe he shared his info or tools.
AFAIK he still makes an occasional bow, but only as a presentation or donation.

Bob Morrison used to make a bow similar, Belcher after Jeff Massie sold the company made a longhorn that was close. Not sure if either of those bows are still in production.

I have one of his bows. The performance is top notch smooth fast an quite. Probably the closest bow I've shot that compares is an older tomahawk ss. I met an talked with him some this summer at a shoot. Great guy very humble. God bless.

I had a TS III, stolen out of my truck. Great bow. Replaced with a MOAB with same woods. It is awesome and out performs a recurve of similar weight, it is in semi-retirement. Shooting a heavier bow right now.

If you could find a Acadia tree Savannah that would be close. I had a Moab and like a dummy I sold it years ago. My Savannah shoots very similarly IMO.

Talking with Jim at SATX PBS banquet he said for some reason the MOAB shoot better than the preceding Thunderstick I, II and III. He wasn't sure why, or what he did differently. Having a TS III and now a MOAB I would have to agree.

I bought a Thunderstick Mag pretty cheap off a local fellow who I met on here a few years back. Pound for pound the fastest and easiest to tune bow I've ever shot. It shoots like a bow 5-7lbs heavier in draw weight. If Jim Reynolds was still making them I'd order 3 immediately.

I like mine so much I refuse to allow it to be my 'main' bow since I know I'm unlikely to end up with another.

Tboughty; know how you feel 3 of 4 bows in my "on deck circle" are not being made any longer. Two Big River and a MOAB.

Correction: the two bows Jim and I talked about were the 62" vs 60" MOAB with the shorter bow being the better performer.

I wish he still made bows. His TS Mag was perfect. I've had 3 of them. All 58"s.

I had the 62 inch MOAB.I have herd the 60 incher was the best length.
From what I remember the Thundertick 3 had a reverse taper lamination that was between the lams on the bsck of riser. That extended a little bit beyond the riser fadeouts. In effect making the riser act as if it was longer than the riser wood itself. It made for a shorter working limb in relation to overall length.
I had 2 Thunderstick 3s.I was able to test a few of the 1st ones he made at Cloverdale about 25 years ago.I liked them right away.
He also made the Ramhorn recurve in a few different lengths. It was 50s style recurve. You Dont see many of those around in the classifieds. They were nice!

I had 3 thunderstick 3's I remember for me they were the best shooting bows at Denton hill the year I discovered them and I ended up ordering 3 of em, for what its worth I ordered one of the first MOABs and it only took a quiver of arrows to know it wasn't the same as a thunderstick 3 so I sold it here the next day after receiving it..

Jim was real easy to talk to on the phone and in person. MOAB is a super bow, shoots like a much heavier draw weight bow. Glad I have it to fall back on as my Big River bows get too stiff.

I have a Thunderstick III, T Mag and the Ramhorn Recurve. I did have a couple of the MOAB's but never could warm up to them. The T Mag might be my favorite short longbow. The Ramhorn, well it's simply amazing for a 50's style design.
