That is a very bad bow. You should pack it up and send it to me RIGHT NOW before you fall for it. It is just like one I got in 1968. While serving as a Marine Guard at the Embassy in Paris France I did a lot of shooting, I had a BW and attended the European shoot at the Ramstein USAF base , my BW had a large grip and the smaller ones were becoming popular, the Golden Eagle was prime but expensive, I was shown a bow like yours and decided to get one. I called Anderson Archery and had the bow in a week. That's right from Mi USA to Paris France in a week. I sold the BW and never looked back at it. Now the story gets better, the glass on the lower started to splinter so I put black tape on it, put some on the top limb just to make it look even. I came back home in October 1968 and went to Camp Lejeune NC. I got to go to Cobo Hall for the big indoor shoot and was on the line when a short guy asked me about the tape, I told him about the splintering glass and he got really upset that "his bow" would do that. I asked him why he thought it was his bow after all I paid for it. He said he was Erne Root. He invited the Marine Team to lunch and took my name and address. A couple of weeks later a long box was on my doorstep. my wife (the same girl friend who was with me at the shoot in Germany, and is still my beautiful wife today) asked how we could afford another bow. I couldn't answer but when I opened the box I found that Mr. Root had sent me a new bow, suggesting that I keep the other as a backup.Enjoy your bow .

Great story Leathercutter!

I think some of those Root grips are the best grips ever - but it IS a personal preference!
