I'm heading out for the last two days of whitetail hunting. Horribly windy but have a stand in the cedars a couple hundred yards from the wheat fields. Had deer in range last two sets but were both button bucks. Will shoot about any tonight. Lots of pig sign in here as well.

Goodluck to all that are still at it. Tommy,

Good luck Tommy. Season is closed here in TN. I’ll miss it but the freezers are full and I can sleep in on the weekends now.

I use a 14' and a 12' wilderness Pungo for hunting /fishing. Being fully dressed and rubber boots if I happen to need out it has a large opening that is important for getting in and out safely. I've brought deer out all different ways depending on the size from laying the seat back and stuffing it in ti tying on top ,to tying the head on the back. They sink somewhat so now I carry bumper float to put in cavity and a life vest on and float them out. Got in trouble once with one without the float and a underwater snag went up in the cavity!. Needless to say that was a tuffy to flip around and reach under the water to saw the stobbe off.

The float in the chest cavity is a super idea.

I've moved about 110 miles to a spot that was good during the rut and there is a community run 18 yards from my stand location . Not sure if they will be here as the fields are a couple miles away and there are lots of doe hordes up there.
