First two shots of the day. Decided to go back in and work on arrows.Just the sound told me what happened. Almost had that thud of an arrow hitting a deer.

Pretty neat the way the knock stayed on the field point.

Oh jeeez! I don't like to shoot "groups" because of that. It just bothers me.

Hurts to ruin a beautiful arrow and at the same time feels good to be good.

I’ve never done that to wood arrows but many times with aluminum and carbon. I do hate ruining good arrows.

“ I’ve never done that to wood arrows ”

It’s awfully hard to do that to a wood arrowbecause you have to hit the point of the taper exactly, and it’s a big help if the point of the taper is softer wood between two rings. Aluminum with a swaged or ground taper is almost as difficult, because the point of the second arrow will generally slide off of the side of the taper.

The MythBusters tried really hard to prove whether the classic Robin Hood shot was even possible with a wood shaft, although I think they overlooked the fact that you need to use self nocks to be period correct, which would at least improve your chances quite a bit.

But when Hill did it for the movie, they used bamboo.....

So now, the pivotal question is… Was the first arrow where you wanted it?

OUCH!! That hurts wallet ! But I'd say it's worth it,especially when showing it off to the daughters new boyfriend ! LOL

Was that a bullseye to start with? That's why I only shoot one arrow at a time... And it still happens a lot..... Figure that one out...lol

Can't tighten your group up much better than that!
