Anyone shot a 76'er much? Wonder what you guys think of them. I know the 76'er is not really popular. I make that statement cause I don't see much written on them. I first got it confused with the minute man, which is very similar. Let us know what you think.

Have a BearCat with a broken limb and keep looking for a set of limbs or limbs from a 76er that can be modified I'm told to fit the BearCat and Minuteman risers, but without luck so I believe they are a little more popular than ya might think...

It was my first hunting bow, and I took my first deer with it. I have the Deluxe target model and the Custom hunting model. They aren't fast, but they are nice shooting and can be made quiet, contrary to the opinion of others. They came out in 73'. I actually preferred my 76er to my brother's 76' Grizzly.

I've had one since, well,1976. I agree that it is somewhat under rated. Also, it is the quietest bow I've ever owned.

Love them and took forever to find a deal on a LH riser. Now I am in the market for limbs, I'm a cheapskate, but look often. Seems risers are more available than limbs. Met a guy at Rhinehart 300 shooting one while I shot a Kodiak Hunter.

I have a reputation around town as a bow maker and trad guy. A while back a guy called me and said he was the cousin of a man who I hand fixed a broken bow for years ago and wanted to know if I could make a string for a 76er, I said yes.

He showed up with the bow, I immediately knew I didn't want to let him see the inside of my shop, he was the meth head looking type.

The bow limbs each looked like pretzels, I had straightened solid fiberglass limbs before and told him I would try to fix the bow but not to get his hopes up as it would probably be a wall hanger.

I spent several hours heating and straightening the limbs and actually got them pretty straight.

I made a string for the bow and shot it some, it was actually a nice shooter, it was the 64" target type 76er.

I had reservation about how well the bow would hold up after at the intense heating I did to the limbs and thought, "if this bow blows up and injures the guy he will sue me back to a poverty level".

I took the string off the bow and called the guy, I told him I had done so much heating to the bow that I wouldn't trust it and he should make a wall hanger out of it.

He said he would come after it but didn't, I messaged him again, he said he had forgotten about the bow but would come get it, he didn't. It was probably a stolen bow, these underworld guys are always into something.

I had bought a hickory selfbow off a guy that had it on Facebook Market Place, again a crack head type when he showed up with the bow. Of course a friend gave it to him, at least that was his story.

I used to haunt Craig's list and the Facebook Marketplace for good deals but every time I bought something I would get the lingering feeling that something just wasn't right about the seller. I have just about quit using these places to find deals, the only ones that you can be sure are on the up and up are the little old ladies who meet you in the parking lot of the local police station and are driving a Prius.

For you guys wanting limbs for the Minute man. Kevin Cummings posted a thread on how he made an awesome set out of ILF limbs. And all he did was shape the end of the limb butts carefully with a belt sander until he got a nice snug fit. And he said it shot amazingly. I tried pulling up the thread but can’t find it. There have been others on here that were successful doing the same thing. After reading Kevin’s how to post. Which was very well done. I don’t think anyone was Successful at doing it with the 76er riser yet though.

I have had a few of them over the years. Solid fiberglass limbs were a little sluggish, as I recall, but fun to shoot , and dirt cheap. If you find one, be sure it has the rubber/plastic grip. They seem to go missing, don’t know why, and they are next to impossible to find.

I've never had the pleasure of shooting a 76'r. I do have a couple of Minuteman bow though and I think it't one of the nicest bows Bear ever made. I wish they'd bring them back into production.

I agree with Jeffer. If Bear made a Minute man bow with today’s limb materials. Like what’s in the ILF limbs. They wouldn’t be just an entry level bow. Who wouldn’t want one of those.;)

had 76r warfed to ilf n was a decent shooter.

about a year ago I bought a blue riser with reds limbs and 50lbs. It shoots awesome. best of all you can use any of the three different grips to choose from. If you get a chance grab one. for the price you can not go wrong.

givin it's not a 57 kodiak but it is a very fun bow !!!!!

In the wind he is still alive !!!!!!!!!!

Minute man and 76er’s Definitely still have a pretty big fan base.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I'm pretty ignorant when it come to some of the Bear bows. All different models keep showing up with Bear on them and I never heard of them.

I shoot a 76er that I put together with a longer riser and "C" limbs(sticker says 45# arrow, draws around 35#) made a 64" bow. This bow shoots really well. If anyone has another set of "C" limbs in good shape let me know. I took these from my wife's bow!

Just bought a nice 76'er for $65! Should be here in about a week. I'm going to restore it/paint it, put a custom grip on it, and hopefully it will be a good target bow with the original fiberglass limbs, and maybe a backup hunting bow (I shoot a 50# Super K and have a 55" Cheyenne on order). I have a set of 55# Samick Sage limbs I might try to retrofit for it. I can see putting it in a backpack on a long trout fishing trip. Cool!

I think they are pretty dang cool. I have two short risers and one long riser that I have to paint and rehab but can't seem to find the time. If someone is looking for a project let me know.
