If you have neve attended this event, you are missing one of the best most fun events of the year. I shoot a lot of events, this is one of my favorites. Very well run, good targets relatively flat easy to walk course.

Can someone define 'primitive camping? I'm coming from a muzzleloader side and primitive camping means period shelters such as tents or tipis. Is this just no RV hookups, flushing toilets and so on? I have a very small popup (Aliner) I would likely use.

Thanks

From: Clydebow
Date: 12-Jan-21

Open field. No hook ups. Water available at club house. Porta- johns on site.

I know Randy and his folks do a fantastic job for their guests. Have some great vendors there as well.

Primitive camping means no electric/water hookups. It’s just a field. Lots bring campers, rv’s, and tents of all kinds. We have drinking water on site at clubhouse, but you will need a vessel to get it in, as you can’t drive up to it. We have had some muddy shoots, but there is plenty of room up on high, dry ground if a person uses common sense. We always pull folks out for free if they did happen to get in trouble. We got a great crew, always willing to help, and it carries over into our visitors. Funny how good behavior spreads. Generators are welcome, just try and be conscious and courteous to other campers, as in, don’t setup next to someone that doesn’t have a generator. We have 92 acres, so we can spread out. If you setup, with a generator, and someone sets up next to you, than it’s on them.

Maybe Jimmy can post up a map of the game farm showing the different areas.

From: r.grider

Here is a CRUDE map of the game farm. My limited computer skills makes this look like kindergarteners rendition, but hopefully it will get the point across. If Jimmy can draw up a better one, I will gladly bow down, but it should get the point across. The yellow lines are camping areas that are level and little chance of stuckage. The blue outline is the vendor area, including clubhouse where the water spigot is.the green line on west side of map is the smoker round course. The green encircled area between it and vendors is Airedale’s shoot and long shot. The green encirclement south and east of that is the American Round field. The redlines are the 2 3-d ranges, 20 targets each.

From: r.grider
Date: 13-Jan-21

“Airedale’s” ? Seriously ? Dang auto correct , it should be ‘Aireals’

From: TradToTheBone
Date: 13-Jan-21

What is the temperature like? Is there a limit on trade blanket items? Is there a vendor list? I’ve got cabin fever because of the virus shut down and may attend some events this year.

Water going down, John? A couple of family issues have threatened us coming but it looks like we've avoided those. We should be there Thursday afternoon.

From: John Sullins
Date: 05-Apr-21

The water is down to only 16" deep over the road. I expect it will be only 6-8" by morning. It should be off the road by Wednesday morning. It looks like nothing is going to stop me from being there. I believe I have attended every Trad Fest since they began when the Kentucky Klassic shut down. I was going thru some of my old archery shirts and found one from the first annual Tyler Rooberts Memorial shoot on September 9th 2006. I know the Trad Fest began before that, but I could not find a shirt for the first one. Does anyone know the date of the first Trad Fest? I was a vendor (Sipsey River) back then.
