Ya me also Boker, we will see ?? The problem is on an event like this you have to make plans so that is what we are doing, if all goes bad we will let folks know in plenty of time so they can adjust their's.As of now it's on, we will take a hard look at it in early April and see how things are going, I pray all will be good. I wouldn't worry to much about the stubby pencil, mostly good honest people at the Classic, sometimes people are just better shots, but those that loose think think they had to have cheated to beat me. Me also Kurt, tired of this lock down but all we can do is wait it out and pray for a good outcome. Pappy

From: THarris
Date: 14-Jan-21

You're right Pappy, I'm sure there aren't many that would cheat at the Twin Oaks Classic or even at my event. I truly believe the vast majority of people that go to these events are honorable and trustworthy people. BUT, unfortunately, there may be someone out there that will "fudge" a number or two, but they think that's ok. WHAT A SHAME.

I know you and your outstanding group put on a fantastic event. There are many other great events out there and NO ONE, should have a pencil beat them. Many of these honest folks travel great distances and spend a lot of money to go to these events, and we know this. We also know, that any way one puts it, FUDGING is the same as CHEATING in my opinion.

Terry Harris

From: Pappy 1952
Date: 15-Jan-21

I hear ya Terry, it is just hard to balance between keeping it legit and making it fun for most that could care less about score. If folks tell us they just want to shoot for fun we mark their card with a line through it, if they want to shoot for score we try to put them with others that want the same, that's about as far as we want to go.Some events are set up just for score, some just for fun, we try our best to have something for both, not prefect but works pretty well. Pappy

From: THarris
Date: 15-Jan-21

I agree Pappy, most folks just want to have fun, shooting with their friends, some they only get to see at these events. Then we have those few that really want to compete and in my opinion, the ones that can hurt our events if they think that someone that take their legitimate award by cheating them, by spreading the word they've been cheated.

We both hear those names and I have already tried to work on some of these issues.

One thing I've done is put others with those I hear the rumors about. I'm certainly not trying to insult anyone, BUT, I explain that the only way I can defend them at my event, from these rumors, is to make them shoot with whom I pick and have someone else keep score. If they're honest, they shouldn't mind.

We've all heard of that special person that HAS TO WIN. I encourage all folks to do the same thing, SO they can be defended as well.

Eventually, since those that "fudge" their numbers will have to turn in legitimate scores, won't win near as much and soon will realize that they've been caught winning so much in the past, they might quit coming. And that certainly is no loss for us.

Pappy, I'm not trying to be negative here in any way, y'all put on one of the best events in the country. I also realize like I said earlier, it's a shame someone doesn't mind cheating because they are a narcissist, (it's all about them, but it does hurt these events and those that need to be called out, should be.

The only good bow I ever had you gave me the wood? I have never even heard of Don Dorn. I have one floor tillered that came from Yellow creek. Its out of that big pile we have at Buck Hollow that Ole Wayne stacked up. I also have the Hackberry stave we cut up that fell over Camp Chicken foot at twin oaks. I will build one out of one of them and see if I can keep up with you Don Dorn and Kurt! We are having our first shoot of the season tomorrow at Buck Hollow, wish us luck! We will see you soon Pappy!

From: Pappy 1952
Date: 19-Jan-21

Hope that Hack berry works out for you Gobber, I have made some good bow from Hack berry, light and pretty fast, and be cool it came from where yall camp.As for the self bow challenge , you never know who will come out of the wood work, we have had some 12/13 year old boys win it before, it's mostly about the person behind the bow, not the bow or who gave you the wood.We are already making plans, cleaning and straightening the shop and grounds, just hope all works out for this year, really missed it last year and seeing all my good friends. Ya Kurt we got another 3 inches or so last night and still a little coming down this morning, then supposed to be very cold for a day or 2 then back in he 50's. We expect rain at the Classic, wished it wouldn't but over the years we have learned how to deal with it some what.LOL, I know my girls are loving the snow, they don't get to see this much, we have been out the last few dayS hiking around looking for critter sign and just enjoying the snow.Hope to see yall next week at the Spring fling , if not at the Classic.Stay warm and safe all. Pappy, any new word on Gary Davis? The Classic won't be the same if he is unable to attend.

Sadly I will not be able to attend this year due to the cost of divorce. This is my all time favorite event and just sickens me that I can’t afford to go. I’ll be there next year though! Hope everyone has fun and post lots of pictures!

I should know this but I guess my old age is catching up and I have forgotten. Is there a "seniors" class or an "open" class at this event.

From: Clydebow
Date: 25-Apr-21

John, Pappy's here, and probably won't see this. I"ll find out tomorrow. I'm thinking yes.

Also, The practice range has a completely different set up, and it's great!

From: Clydebow

I will ask Pappy in the morning to let me take a pic of the vendors list and post it tomorrow.

Also John, The reason I have to check, is the same reason you can't remember from year to year.

BigB, that depends on what day you are coming in and wether you're camping or not. I don't think they fire the kitchen up for guests until Friday. I will ask.

From: Eric Krewson

There are a lot of nice motels at exit 4 off 24 in Clarksville, I haven't been up there in years but it seems like these motels are about 15 miles from Twin Oaks, all the better one have pools.

Just google Clarksville motels.
