Do you spin test your hunting arrows? I used to many years ago , but I don't anymore. I found that I get the same degree of death one way or the other. I have a dozen broadheads in a case in my back quiver at all times, so if the opportunity comes, all I have to do is just screw one on. Done. Never had any problems even with wobbly heads. I always get the same type of death.

I spin test, shoot, then sharpen the arrow/broadhead before it goes into my hunting quiver.

Wobbly head alignment doesn't affect the cutting ability of the broadhead, but but it can affect the flight of the arrow, which can affect penetration. DANNY

That’s one of those things that I can’t imagine NOT checking.
I would be primarily concerned with accuracy, but it can’t help penetration any to have a poorly aligned point. Just seems like Responsible Bowhunting 101 to me…

Well, when I mount broadheads on screw in adapters I spin them to make sure they are straight on the adapter. Don't think I ever had one not spin true on a carbon or aluminum arrow after that.
On wood arrows I spin test every one of them as I mount them.

I check my broadhead arrows on the Dixon broadhead alignment tool. That device works regardless of point shape.

I don't do it anymore, that's no to say that they are badly wobbly. If I spin them and cant see a wobble by eye , they are good. How much accuracy are you guys talking about here? I can still hit my target inside 20 yards , even though my hunting shots are much closer than that. A coffee cup at say 12 yds is 98% a hit no matter what , at least for me. I have tested badly wobbling broadheads at long range to check for bad flight but found none. I do not hunt with badly centered broadheads , period , but if I can't see that by eye , is good to go. More often than not ,I get pass thru . There is , however , nothing wrong if you do check the alignment, but, how much tolerance are most guys looking for ?

It's kind of like proof reading, if you don't do it it'll catch up to you.

Depends on the head how much it effects accuracy. Some heads no effect. Larger heads like the snuffer it can cause your arrow to plane as if it weren't tuned. I spin mine no matter. Its very little time for added insurance.

Yep, it’s part of tuning.
