if your Black Eagle Instinct arrow is 15/16 diameter then it could have spines of .350, .400,.500, or .600. Look on the shaft to see if there is a 3 digit number like those above.
Your other AFC shafts spine somewhere around 70 to 80 pounds. Without measuring them on a good spine tester, you really do not know.

Also,
ASTM deflection to ATA (AMO) pounds:
.350 = 90 #
.400 = 79#
.500 = 63#
.600 = 53#

i have afc 2540,2400, and 2300 the 23 seem to shoot best for me in the mid 40 lb range. also i think length of shaft. you might get away with 50 plus if its a short arrow

AFC arrows were great in their time an American made before Game Tracker I believe . All bows at same pounds are not equal, depends on arrow shelf, cut to center, past center, or before center and person doing the shooting. Good luck

Bought a bunch of those for my son and me. His I believe were 2500? He shot 80# back then. I just looked and mine are no where to be found. I remember losing more than I broke.

Well if 600 spine is for 53 lb bow then I’d say 2300 spine is for a 10 lb bow

LOL indeed! BS, you're confusing the model name '2300' with arrow shaft deflection. The name 2300 is a bastardized, obfuscated market-driven version of its 0.230" diameter.

The 2300 was a .500 spined shaft. 2400 was a .400 spine. I shot for AFC in the 80's, and my Black Widows loved them. Not a very tough shaft, they break with side impact. These will splinter on you, so be careful.

Back in these first carbon arrows they were called protruded carbon I believe. AFC, Beman , Easton. I never had any splinter, some broke at back of outsert from hard impact with rocks or whatever.

Buglmin,
That's the way I remember them too. IIRC, Cabelas sold the same shaft branded to them in 220 (.600) 230 (.500) and 240 (.400). I think they called the Cablelas SST.

I think it was last week I posted pictures of a MA-3 single bevel 3 blade broadhead that fit over the tip of the arrow, without an insert. Mine fit on the 2400 shaft, which I always thought were a .400 deflection. I never could figure out how to sharpen them. There's no mention of bevel on the package. I think that was before the term became common with broadheads.

I still have a pile of those SST's. They shot great and went clear through animals at low poundage.

Can you still get components for the SST’s?
