Was out walking around looking for pigs in my crocs, but this girl popped out at dusk and changed my plans. Easy trail, but went back to the house to get the dogs for some easy tracking work. This may be the last track for this old guy. Sweet pup, and a great tracker back in his day.

Not too big, but lost the meat from my last doe when one of the freezers died, so I was happy to take her. Maybe another buck before the end of this season. We will see. Same old TallTines Stickflinger and VPA 3 blades.

Congrats Pat! Maybe try that Green Paul Bunyan out on deer. You think 70# is enough? ;)

From: TrapperKayak
Date: 28-Dec-20

Nice shooting. Your dog doesn't look old at all, looks pretty peppy!

From: pdk25
Date: 28-Dec-20

It would get the job done, but the next fiberglass bow that I kill something with will be a Paul Bunyan 100 that is around 50# @ 30". I don't think it has fed yet.

From: pdk25
Date: 28-Dec-20

TrapperKayak, he could barely walk the track. He sure is handsome when he smiles, though.

Crocs may turn out to be the Ultimate stalking shoe....I even have a camo pair "to boot". What a great idea for a marketing concept for them

We have two young belguim shepards (turvs)One is a tracking fool and will actually point. I would of loved to test her.

Gives you something to grind in with the pork. Stinks to hear about the freezer.

From: Lowcountry
Date: 28-Dec-20

Congrats! You’re a killing machine! How many freezers do you own?

From: pdk25
Date: 28-Dec-20

Have a whole room of them, and more 55 gallon drums of freeze dried food than you would believe.

Love the crocs. Have some just like em but my feet would get cold in the for hunting.

From: pdk25
Date: 30-Dec-20

Pretty warm here most of the year. I use them alot when heading out for a stalk, but oily use them sitting during the hot summer months.

From: Arrowflinger

Good shooting Pat! Late season is always fun.

Damn gorgeous dog brother.congrats on the deer

From: Drahthaar

Nice, you can't beat a good blood tracking dog. Forrest

From: Wild Bill
Date: 10-Jan-21

Congratulations.

You should look into the camo crocs which do not have holes in the toe, and therefore, resist wetting your toes. I find heavy wool socks a good match with crocs.

From: Recurveaholic77
Date: 10-Jan-21

You can also try the lined crocs they are actually pretty warm when it is cold! Nice job!

From: elkster
Date: 10-Jan-21

Good work. Good looking dog too. Blood trailing dogs add an element to the hunt for sure.

From: pdk25

Thanks Recurveaholic77. I have never seen them.
