I have been building quiet a few bows since Covid hit ,and since White Oak is plentiful in my area I made these 3 native plains bows from that wood. They are 48,50,and 54 inches long, and short draw from 20 to 24 inches, and are 38 to 42lbs at full draw. Hope things get back to normal soon. England has discovered a mutated strain of the virus that is hyper contagious,so lets pray things get better.

Robert, What are the dimensions of the working handle. Can you add close ups, side, back and belly of the “handle” area

Jay those bows have 4 inch long non working handles with a cut in arrow rest, and are one,and one eighth by one,and one eighth handles. If you use the same numbers you can taper the handle both ways from the middle when you tiller ,and get a working handle. Wayne many bows have been made from red,and white Oak, and they can make a good bow.

Very nice Bob. You certainly do experiment with many different wood species. Great way to spend time during the covid pandemic.

Those are very nice, as always Bassman. The decorations on that one or a very understated beauty. I love it. >>>----> Ken

hi, been a member for awhile and been wanting a native american style bow for me to build a plains style bow / arrow / quiver combination around. i can do the arrows and quiver myself but just don't feel comfortable with the bow. wondered if you ever do anything for sale or trade? was thinking about 48" - 50" length in the 35# to 40# draw weight range with the longest draw that is realistic. maybe we can talk?
