Here are 3 Hickory self bows that I just finished. The painted one's are for my grandson's. They like paint. The blue one's draw is 35 lbs. The red one is 40lbs at 25 inches of draw. The wood grain is mine, and 45lbs. at 26 inches of draw. They all hold some reflex, and mine is fire hardened, and holds the most reflex. The other 2 were reflexed with a heat gun. Good shooters, and I am happy with the results. My grandson's will get their bows for xmas.

Beautiful job!! I kind of like painted bows also. not totally painted, but designs. Those boys should be very happy. I had a birch sapling and my uncle had a dairy farm nearby so I had plenty of bailing twine for string. A neighbor hunted pheasant and he took pity on me and made me a couple arrows.....Ha!Ha!

Great job Bassman.

Extremely nice Xmas gifts. All I ever got was socks and a sweater. If the kids keep the bows thru the years, hopefully they will come to recognize the love and care that went into making them.
