What do you think about this handle and fade. Should this work on Osage? What can I do to make it better?

In for the comments, I have a similar looking handle on a roughed out stave bow...

You can get more working limb by blending the fades right up to the thickest part in the center in a bulbous grip.

Do you have an example picture we could see Runner?

Do you like that style handle?

Yes, because it fits perfectly in the palm and the "necked" area allows a narrower arrow pass without needing a shelf.

That grip is only semi-bulbous but the same principle is used.

Thanks for sharing that information with us Runner. What I kind of wood is that Black bow made out of? Looks very nice.

They are both Elm. It's just stained with black leather dye.

Looks like a comfy grip style.

That handle Runner posted is one of my absolute favorites.

Runner, how narrow is the palm side of your handle in relation to the back of the handle. Does it taper like it looks in the photos, or is that optical illusions in the photo.

From: Runner

It's rounded off so it narrows somewhat but doesn't taper like a wedge if that's what you mean.

The picture probably doesn't show the true shape very clearly.

Thanks, I thought maybe the photos exaggerated the look a bit. I’ve made mine about 7/8” wide and 1-1/4” front to back, and just rounded over all 4 edges. I’ve always liked that but might have to try the bulbous shape on one, might like it even better.

D Lewis, that handle looks good. I would sand down those sharp edges. Runner, very nice handles.
