I was invited to Geuydan Louisiana by a friend to hunt teal on his place. I said man I haven’t shot a shot gun in many years and I’d really like to Use my Longbow. He said that’s fine there’s plenty of birds! Well I emptied the quiver twice and fetched my arrows as birds kept trying to come into the decoys lol I think it was my twentieth arrow I finally connected! Now I must warn y’all I got a little excited hahahaha Here’s the video proof that I hit that teal in the air!

Awesome! That was cool. Those birds were flying fast! Would be hard enough hitting em with a gun...well for me anyways

My hat is off to you! I have hunted teal over deeks a few times. It’s a kick in the pants and lots of frustration, but about as much fun as it gets. The Labs can’t quite figure the game out and don’t fully appreciate all the cussing and laughing. I’ll watch you video over coffee tonight when I need. Monday equalizer. I’m laughing already.

Nice shot! Now that’s was some small game excitement. My first hunting was with a wooden bow a friend gave me in about 1960. I chased rabbits, ever-present pheasants and puddle ducks with that bow and though I hit a rabbit I don’t think I ever was successful on a wing shot. But oh man, what fun for an 11-12 year old kid and his beloved mongrel “Duchess”.
What are the flu-flu fletchings you’re using there, if I may ask?

Bustedarrow, I’d love to shoot some 3D with you! I have some discs I made years ago and I used to shoot them when someone was around to throw them up for me but hadn’t shot them in a long time
Riverwolf I hope I can get a male wood duck one day. I’d definitely get that mounted!

I don't duck hunt so i have to ask. Is it wrong to shoot a duck after it lands? Illegal? Unsportsmanlike? Is hitting the duck on the wing the main idea or it HAS to be that way?

That was awesome. Hitting a Teal On the wing is pretty darn near impossible. I was thinking maybe trying Mallards. Much bigger and a little slower.

Gueydan! Been a long time since I've heard that name! Had my first Long Island Ice Tea at a joint called the Cajun Paradise when I was playing with the Atchafalaya Basin Band back in 1978. The rest, as they say, is history!

I would think shooting a duck on the water with the trad bow would be fine, but it’s frowned upon by some to do so with a gun.
