John was one of the best people I've ever known. We attended his church for many years. He was a remarkable preacher. His life was all about faith, family and shooting arrows the right way. I was privileged to be with him to help drag out his biggest buck and his biggest bear. I miss him already. He called my last week to have lunch. I regretfully missed his call. John was so classy, he always had creases ironed in his blue jeans. I feel safe in saying he is with Jane and Howard right now.

He seemed quite the charactor, cool to talk too.. Bought some bamboo lams off him years ago at a shoot... They were thick and wide, probably an eight inch thick but never got a chance to glue them up, but enjoyed the short chat I had with him... RIP John...

He perpetuated in a straitforward manner, a no nonsense method on how to to shoot the H.Hill style longbow the way he was taught by Howard himself. Passed it on to many who have championed the style both in hunting and competition.

A big loss may he rest in peace.
