Only one. Funny thing about it, I was offered the riser in a trade. I recognized it as my old riser and verified grain patterns in pictures to be certain. I later realized that I had already purchased the limbs several months prior. I knew that they looked a lot like the ones that I had owned but the light just didn't come on. When I checked the serial number on the limbs against the number on the riser, it was a match.

I made a fast trip to an ATM machine to get some cash and bought it back. A while later I remembered why I sold it in the first place and sold it again. LOL

Yes, I had a Striker Fastback that I shot very very well. I had several issues with it. Actually they had it more than I did the first year. I sent it in to get refinished and wasn't happy with the work. It was at a time when the were super busy and the quality was very sub par. I was pissed and sold it out of spite. In hind site I probably should have kept it and refinished it myself or sent it to someone else to spray.

Like someone else said, at some point just about every one Ive sold. Luckily though my current stable is about the best its ever been.
As far as random bows I miss a lot, interestingly this one Lost Creek Envy that Chad Francis built me some years ago. It had a Texas ebony riser and bocote limbs. That damn bow shot as good as anything top shelf out there. It had some build flaws and Chad grew a bit of a negative reputation later on but I tell you with that bow I couldnt miss abd it was damn quiet. It was only 600 new too so a relative bargain. Id buy it back for sure.

I've been through a few bows over the last 10 years. Had an older Bear tigercat that I liked really well. Wasn't shooting it too terribly much so I ended up making a great deal to a kid for his first bow. Ran into him last year and he wasn't a kid anymore, I didn't even recognize him at first. Said he still loves shooting that bow. Feel like I made the right choice there but I would probably pay double what I sold it to him just to get it back.

Nope not too much.
For sentimental reasons but that only. Traded the best shooting bow ever had which was one of the first ever made Tamerlanes, but don't miss it or any other huge risered target bow of its time. What in the world would I do with another one to have to wax on my rack. Sure couldn't scare the local turkeys with it.
One I almost missed was the '62 K Mag I had at the same time 'cause it was my first bow bought new with after school money. Thought I missed it after the Navy when I could only find the Tamerlane, but later, my best friend and hunting partner in the early to mid sixties told me his little brother had it, liked it, and was using it for that second deer season. Fine by me and just glad someone else was getting enjoyent from it. I had moved on with getting into takedowns, which were the new thing back then.

I had a Jack Howard Gamemaster Jet, 66", 48@28 that I have always regretted selling. I was always worried about the length. Just cumbersome to deal with. At the time I was shooting 55 to 60 pound bows and the "Jet" felt just to light. Today I would love to have a "Jet" at that weight, as would a lot of you.

Now why would Jim say something like that?
Well 2 reasons he builds whatever he wants or he has to let them go because he is getting older and may have to come down in weight too like the rest of us? LOL
Id say yes several of my Big Jims I sold but then some are now to heavy for me having this big lay off.
probably ok to hunt with but to shoot a lot of targets probably no so I have to work on selling some more they are only sitting on racks in bedroom keeping me company at night. LOL
I always tried to convince myself but I never stopped thinking about them and the beautys they were. I'd say its time for someone else to enjoy them and thats the only way I could deal with it.
Wasn't about the money either although a few bows sold at the time the virus thing started was a big help out for me when wasn;t working. LOL

Well this is a relating story about the question asked by the op,,,the first real recurve my welfare system mother could ever afford, a bear 35 lb kodiak magnum, green says glass powered, silver badge, so you know the time frame... i shot it to death, along came wheels,a few years later..i went that way,so fast forward about 15 years, one of my childhood buddies worked for my carpentry crew,he was dating a hoe,but she had a cool 11 year old kid, i gave the kid the bow,he thought i was, the man, yadda yadda. 6 years later , i run into my buddy and i look in the rear hatch of his vw rabbit. There lays the bow,, 98 degrees, !!@##@@!! I said, he says i justran into that old gf and she said take this back, my kid is grown,, he handed me BACK the first real bow i ever had,, and yes i did think often ,,i should have never given that away, and wa laa there it was,, crazy end is both he and her are dead by ther own means....

Yes, most of the bows sold I regret. Two that come to mind are a Quinn Stallion and a Widow SAG. The Quinn was the bowyer's personal bow. It was magic. The Widow SAG is no longer made. It was a short recurve with pretty extreme curves. The Widow was so easy to shoot. Oh, a third one would be an Abbott longbow. It was made from yew the bowyer harvested in the Northern Cascades and seasoned for three years. The growth rings on that beautiful yew longbow were so close together.

Not now. Might have wanted to have that '63 Tamerlane I bought new with after school working money back a few years ago. Only because it had better looking wood than others I saw back then and it didn't have that ugly side plate Bear put on them in '64 on. Don't need it now, don't want it, and it wouldn't match to what I need for this time in my life. What I need, is to get rid of some of the old roseood recurves I already have. Something to go shoot those short distance 3-D targets with and maybe something to scare a turkey with is about all I'll need till they plant me.

I was lucky enough to get my first Leon Stewart back after almost two years of being away. I had a Honduras wood Max from black widow I hope to get back one day as well.

For me two come to mind. Both to friends. First one I sold to a friend and my friend shoots it better than anything he's ever had...kinda makes me happy though. #2 Loaned a friend a nice bow that he never mentions and has not returned in 3 years. Not as happy but stuff happens.

I built a longbow and donated it to a fundraising draw about 20 years ago. I know the guy who won it never shot it and has since passed away. It was #50 and had a maple riser with brown glass limbs and maple core. I would like to get it back but have no idea where it is now.

Out off all the bows I have traded or sold I really only regret one. My Great Northern bushbow just fit and for the life of me I cannot remember why I let it go. I am looking to get another and I won't let it go again.

Yes, a Carrolls T/D many years ago, 2 sets of limbs each 61# but smooth as silk out to my 32" draw and 75#. I would need lighter limbs now.
