I was out this morning shooting a recreational WA300 round with my White Feather Lark ILF riser. I finally got the bow tuned with the cheap plastic Hoyt Super rest and it has been shooting great. The rest has held up to hundreds and hundreds of shots.

Half way round the little plastic arm that holds the arrow broke off. I went to the shop and found another replacement. Exact rest, exact build out and exact placement.

I went to finish the round but the arrows all flew high and 6" to the right! ( Shooting left handed). All I can think of is that the plastic is too stiff. It looks the same as the old one.

Just a word to the wise, if you think you can just simply replace the rest and carry on as usual, you may be mistaken.

I may have to look for some other brand of elevated rest. Suggestions?

I use the super rest and can get hundreds, maybe near a thousand shots before replacement. I have not experienced any trouble replacing the worn ones with new ones, always shoots the same. Is it possible that the foam backing on your new one was a different thickness? They do come with different size backing as you probably know.

You sure it was a Hoyt make? Cartel makes them as does another foreign country and I'm not sure of the thickness of the plastic or it's rigidity. I've used Hoyt Super Rests for decades (since they were introduced actually), and still do on a few bows. I have never had a single issue, and especially something that radical. No reason for a reaction like that. I've changed them many times by just sticking one in the same place and the tune was dead-on. I'm thinking you didn't have what you think you did.

Never had an issue with the Hoyt Super Rest. As was mentioned, they come with different thickness options of double-sided tape and I'm not sure once an old one is removed it would easily compare with an unused piece. but if you purchased multiple rests it should have come with another piece of the same thickness. They also have a small plastic tab as the side=plate. I cut mine off and use with a plunger. Check your nock point to make sure it hasn't moved down the string. I'm assuming you have a nock set under the arrow nock to prevent the same thing. An arrow in proper paradox shouldn't come anywhere near the rest after release. It sounds like the nock end of the arrow tore the arm off or it could have been cut by a sharp quill from an arrow of the wrong spine passing way too close to the riser. Just my 2 cents.

That’s why I set up my wife’s ILF rig with an NAP Flipper Center Rest. She has a spare in her quiver and can replace it in the field.

Yes it is a Hoyt rest. That is why I was so shocked.

You have the thicker mounting tape. If it had the thin one when you changed it, that could be your problem

World records have been set with the Hoyt Super Rest. I have known the arm to eventually break, once at the state championship. I gave the fellow a spare from my quiver pocket. Champions carry spares of many things.

They are left/right tuneable with the foam and by trimming the little vertical flap. Tune up/down by moving your nock point. - lbg

I use the George Stout Walmart rest. Lol.,

I finally trimmed about 1/16" off the little plastic arm that holds the arrow. I am getting better flight now.

Some part of the shaft or fletch must have been ever so slighty hitting that part of the rest on release. SD
