I found a few introductory to intermediate level books about archery to recommend to new shooters, but what introductory to intermediate level books would you recommend for new bowhunters?
I'm not looking for stories or pro tactics but what you would tell a new hunter: broadhead selection, shot placement, the paramount importance of sharp heads, how to locate and ambush deer.
I did a search and saw a variety of titles. I thought that I would ask again and see what titles come up. Thanks.

Jud Cooney wrote a book called "Bowhunter's Field Manual" that is very good. I would suggest that it be added to any bowhunters library.

Go to http://www.abebooks.com/ and type bowhunting in the keyword slot and you will get tons. Many of them are under $5.00 shipped and go up from there. Essentials of Bowhunting by Dwight Schuh is a good one and dirt cheap there.

Good archery form will make you a better bowhunter, so look at those who teach good form. Rick McKinney, Al Henderson, and myriad others who been there and done that.

For a new person, to gain all the insight to get into bowhunting. To understand the complexity and tips, there are in my opinion only really two ways today to get most out of it. 1) find a mentor and have them take you into woods and explain it so can see the why (though "Come November"is great for whitetails). 2) Jason Samkowiak, traditional bowhunter podcast/youtube does great job. He made a course that I think (30 years bowhunting here), gives a lot of great information. Its $75.00, but in my opinion will put a new person light years ahead.
