Anyone know what year this Seneca is? Looks like somewhere between '63-'65, but I'm not very familiar with these. Looks like it is the 58" AMO version?

I’d say that is a good guess. The vintage archery site doesn’t have the Indian catalogs for those years but do you know the marked length?

Larry the owner of Lost Nation is an Indian collector. Give him a call. He is holed up like we are so I am sure you will make contact with him. Great guy to deal with also.

The pics of the markings have no indicated length, but it looks to be a 58". The owner says it is 50" measured tip to tip, but he's likely measuring wrong.

Thanks for the tip Jon!

I think the Seneca measures 62” or 64” depending on the year

But that’s according to the 1966-1969 catalogs. Those years also went up to 50#

I heard earlier versions came in 58"? I could be wrong though. It's definitely a 264 Seneca based on the pics.

The plot thickens! The owner measured the bow properly along the belly, and it looks to actually be 54" AMO. I never knew the Seneca even came in this length.

Paging George Stout lol!

Seems like they may be measuring it wrong still. It just doesn’t make sense that it would go from 62” in the first year (1961), go down to 58” somewhere during 1963-1965 and then go up to 64” in 1966. Hopefully George or someone else who may know will chime in soon. Did you leave a message with the owner of Lost Nation?

If it’s 58 AMO then it’s 62”

Both my 58" recurves measure 55" tip to tip when unstrung.

Haven't left a message with him yet, I've been on work calls all day unfortunately. I may just have to do that though. Thank you for the help!

Ok- just talked to Larry at Lost Nation. Basically he said “the heck if I know” but he did say somewhere between 1961-1969. His Seneca’s are 45# and marked 58” AMO which means they should take a 55” string. He went on to say that in his experience, the whole AMO thing is not an exact science and different companies would use different measurements when applying it.

Wow thanks EZ! Much appreciated!

I'm thinking this owner is probably still measuring wrong, I'll post here as I get more info. Seriously thanks again! I've been tied up on work calls all day and that helps a lot.
