In light of the Covid-19 virus, the Baltimore Bowmen has reevaluated all its upcoming events, the biggest of which is our Traditional Classic, May 15-17. As you know, that is a large gathering of people and does not comply with guidelines of social distancing. So, in addition to cancelling all 3-D shoots, we are postponing the Traditional Classic until September.

That date has not been set as of yet. Dates we are considering are the following: September 4-6 or September 11- 13, 2020. If you have a preference, please email us at [email protected] and let us know what dates you would prefer. Please include your name and contact info. Thank you.

One of the best shoots I have been to and will look forward to going in September if it gets rescheduled. I'll sure be ready for some fun time by then. :o)

Date makes no deference to me September sounds even better

August will interfere with vacations plans for many families. Sept will interfere with MD deer season but I vote for the second weekend.

Email sent..!! PLEASE have it over the 4th of Sept..!! The 11- 13th is the date of our long established Traditional Archery club shoot at Shade Mtn Bowmen. In central Pa. Our major fundraiser to help keep our small club afloat annually. An archery only club since 1959. Losing all other shoots has hurt us badly. Thx for the consideration..

September is deer and elk season. Foam tales a back seat.

I would be fine with either of the dates suggested.

That weekend in September is the one when the Forksville,PA shoot is held. That's the one with the famous Running Deer target, that's where I hope to be.

To the Baltimore Bowmen Organizers:

Please allow the established events that have yearly taken place across your border with Pennsylvania to continue without event scheduling conflict.

The Gov. of PA. has imposed MAJOR restrictions on Sporting Club events. Countless "small" clubs are facing quite uncertain futures now, and for an unforeseeable amount of time, simply because all spring season events, and probably summer events too, have had "social distancing" and "non-essential" protocols placed on them.

It's quite well known that Shade Mountain Bowmen have had the same weekend for years; with this years' event being September 11-13, 2020.

Shade Mountain is not the size of Baltimore Bowmen, nor will it ever be. BUT, it is established, and anticipated by folks who attend BOTH Shade AND Baltimore. It is one very great shoot!

Please take into considerations, Baltimore Bowmen, that it is now your group that is changing its schedule, and that it would be in everyone's interest to find a date that is open without ANY local or regional conflicts.

We, as Traditional Archers, are literally "all in this together". Now...early as it is...is the time to work together to keep this community of ours as intact as possible. It's not the time to divide and conquer.

And let's hope every group or sporting club that supports Traditional Archery can stay together during this pandemic. It's going to be a tough haul, but, hopefully, we'll all get through it.....

I don't think these lockdowns will be lifted until,we have a vaccine especially when they say some people are being reactevated that were supposed to be cured.

Without testing and contact tracing seems like a long ways from being safe.
