I have recently started using a Millennium tree seat. It’s super comfy and lite weight however it only has a single shoulder strap to tote it.

With my backpack it’s not very convenient or easy to tote.

I am looking for suggestions on how y’all tote your hunting gear,

I have researched options and see several interesting thought but not a complete system.

Basically I’d like to tote my tree seat and a small pack with just bare Essentials I like to have with me.

Binoculars, scent spray , knife, small saw for cutting brush for cover or clearing shooting lanes, flash light, and the clothing like a heavy jacket , water etc.

Obviously the purest , best and simplest way to hunt is little to no gear at all but I every time I have tried that I found I needed what I left at the truck.

So for those who like to take to much stuff along with a climbing stand or tree seat.

How do you carry it?

Here is what I do. I have a small non-frame back pack and a fleece fanny pack. I've had both of these items for years and probably have $50 bucks spent on the two of them combined.

If I'm not taking a lot I'll just wear the fanny pack.

If I'm taking a little more I'll wear the fanny pack and the back pack, I spin the fanny pack around so it rides in front of me.

If I'm taking in my portable climber, I wear the fanny pack in the front and then strap the back pack to the stand.

If I plan on ground hunting, I have a very small tripod chair that will fold and store inside my pack. I also attach a seat pad to my back pack strap that I can remove and sit on for added comfort.

I'm always adding or subtracting things from my gear taken afield and so far this is the best method for me.

Eberlestock X2. Best daypack ever made. It is amazing how much and how little you can pack into one.

Here is how I rig up my hang-on stands. I strap on my rapid rails with military alligator clip straps, then I put the daypack straps over the rapid rails. I put a bungee cord across the back of the daypack to keep the daypack from swinging back and forth when I'm walking. I have backpack shoulder straps attached to my treestand and I added a sterum strap to keep the shoulder straps from slipping off my shoulders while I'm walking. Some of the places I hunt are a ways in the woods and some are mountainous so I try to make carrying my equipment as comfortable as possible. My climber stands are a little easier because I don't need the rapid rails.

I use my Waldrop Pac seat with a Bison Gear over the shoulder bag, which works well for me. My guille suit is strapped to my pac seat. A 30 minute walk to my hunting ground is my norm.

Look for a Dwight Schuh Hunt Pack on E***. It consists of a plastic frame with a removable top bag (2500) and a removable fanny pack(1000). Use the fanny pack mounted on the frame and strap the chair (or treestand) to top part of frame. Quite and comfortble. I've used it to haul treestands and also packed out 1/2 of a boned out elk.

As far as if I'm hunting off the ground I just strap my folding stool to my daypack.

With my Lone Wolf hand climber I do as Frank does, I wear the stand like a back pack and then sling my actual back pack over the platform. One easy peasy package to carry.

With my climbers ( Lone Wolf and Loggy Bayou ) I use a carabiner to hang my daypack from my stand. I attach the handle on top of the daypack to the carabiner. I then put a bungee cord across the back of the daypack to keep the daypack from swinging while I walk to my stand site. On my climbers I use Military Army MOLLE Back Pack Shoulder Straps. This makes carrying everything more comfortable.

For my climbers I could carry everything I needed in my fanny pack with my binoculars on my neck. I just swung the binos to my back when climbing to keep bark out.

Now I hunt on the ground and use a Kifaru Spike Camp daypack. It’ll carry it all and if need be I can strap a chair to it. It’s probably overkill for some deer hunts but it works for me. I bought it 20-odd years ago to use packing out boned caribou because it has a freighter shelf. It was great for that, the shelf can be reversed to make a seat where you lean against your backpack and it goes on every hunt with me now. I can also put my Filson wool coat or whatever back there strapped into the freighter shelf if I wish. Perhaps the best gear purchase I’ve ever made.

I have day packs and never use them. I have a fleece fanny pack that will easily carry a day's worth of goodies as well as my other 'stuff'. It will carry everything I possibly need, even if I would get stuck in the woods overnight. If I carry my seat with me, it's no big deal at all. I don't have a tree stand so that's not an issue with me.

I know it's not for everybody, but going tree standless has proven to be SO LIBERATING for me. Simple folding stool of my own design lashed to a small backpack with my lunch and other odds and ends weighs next to nothing and has opened up my setup opportunities.

I hunt on the ground and all my gear goes into my butt pack, categorized in ziploc bags. I rarely tame it off when still hunting. Only if I really need something. But its there if I need it.

Fashion a couple of backpack/carry straps to your millennial stand. Then, hook your day pack/back pack over it. Or, if your day/back pack is quite large, just tie the stand to the pack.

I just fill up the pockets in my turkey vest. Everything has its place/pocket. I just put it on and Im ready to hunt, I dont use the seat pad to cut weight and bulkiness.

I also use my turkey vest and use the padded cushion that's attached.I also carry mesh camo pattern netting or burlap for a quick blind set up.

I use a freighter pack frame for stands and climbing sticks and a turkey vest after the stands are in.

"however it only has a single shoulder strap to tote it"

It's yours, modify it with another shoulder strap as you please.

I hang my pack on my treestand by the top hand strap and use a bungee to keep it from shifting.

We do all the lane clearing before hunting and use ladder stands. That way the only thing I carry into the woods is my bow and a gas mask bag with a few things in it like water, gloves etc. If we decide to move to another spot this is done during the day and do the lane clearing then . I just don't carry a lot of stuff with me on my way to the stand. The more you carry the more you sweat.

Through the years I've carried a treestand with a backback lashed to it and carried a backpack with a treestand lashed to it. Now days, I'm more like Jon Stewart.

Killed a buck this year because I was in a treestand and saw deer in another spot that I wouldn't have seen from the ground. Moved to that spot and killed a buck standing on the bottom of a Lone Wolf, LOL. It's true. Sometimes you have to modify your gear and sometimes you have to modify how you use your stand.

I use a Kelty pack and frame to carry a Huntmore seat and to carry quarters of deer, should I get one. Leaving a deer in the woods is not an option because of the many wolves and other preditors in this part of the state.
