My wife Lisa and I have been married for 25 years. She is 50 and I am 58. We have 3 kids 16, 11 and 9. Lisa is or was uber healthy. Eats clean, yoga everyday... She was diagnosed with stage 3 Hodgkins Lymphoma about 2 months ago. Chemo every 2 weeks for 6 months. She gets round 4 of 12 tomorrow. She weighs only 96 lbs and the chemo is making her sick as a dog. Brutal side effects. Lisa is my soul mate, my opposite number, however you would say it, she is my life. Watching her suffer is tearing me and the kids apart.
I would be sincerely grateful for any prayers offered up to our Almighty God on our behalf. I reach out because I have followed the stories and prayed for others in our community that have walked this path. I know there are some really good men here. I've been a God fearing, God worshiping man all life, but this has really rocked my faith. Thanks in advance. Your brother of the bow. Tom

Prayers for your Wife, you and your children at this anxiety ridden time. I know somewhat of what you’re going through as my Wife was diagnosed in 2017 with a large malignant tumor in her chest. We were warned of the many complications associated with the removal of the tumor bc they couldn’t see all the way around the tumor. I came here to ask for prayer help. Everything ended upok. Keep the faith. Never give in or give up, miracles do happen.

Heal her Lord. And bro Tomas: I've been thru a lot: massive heart attack, late stage colon cancer, numerous serious spine injuries,and other things. What I've learned is that these trials/tribulations do two major (and some smaller) things for you. First they TEST your faith, and second they BUILD your faith. Not so easy to endure them, but keep in mind that "ALL things work for the good of them that love the Lord and are called according to His purpose." Hang in there dude.

Thomas I had Stage 4 Prostate Cancer. I had 64 Radiation treatments and 5 1\2 months of Chemo. I was so sick from the Chemo that I wondered if it was worth it and yes my Faith was tested daily. I had a lot of people praying for me and I just kept telling God that it was whatever his Will was for me. I could not have done it without a loving and caring wife. I know you and your children love her and will do everything you can to help her and make her comfortable. On my last visit my Oncologist said I had no signs of cancer. Keep your Faith and know I will be praying for her and your family.

I know she can beat it, God saved me from throat cancer because I asked him in prayer to spare me. I pray for reassurance for your family, that she will recover starting immediately as her symptoms subside, due to the cause going away altogether. Amen.

Thanks so much to all of you for the prayers and uplifting words. We are 1/3 of the way through treatment. Lisa had a PET scan yesterday and the images came back with zero detectable cancer! I sincerely believe this is the result of prayer and the best medical care in the world. Both are simply grace. This is the first good news we have had in a long, long time. Your kind words and prayers were very encouraging. Both got me off my petty pot. I can't thank you enough. I pray that all of you have a wonderful Christmas and for anyone in our trad community that has suffered the loss of someone they love. May God bring you peace and hope. Tom

Tomas, I pray for your wife's healing and strength to beat this. This must be the hardest time of your life and I understand.My wife just finished Chemo and radiation. It is so hard to see your best friend suffering through the sickness. January 21 they will remove cancer from esophagus and pull stomach up and reattach and put in feeding tube. We can only cherrish the time we have and try to make our wife as comfortable as possible. In our 46 years, this is the worst. Our lives are in the Lord's hands and our great hope. Thirty years ago at around the age of 32 I was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Stage 3 as well. Like your wife, the chemo was very rough on me, too. Many times I felt like I couldn't go on but with the Lord's help and my wife's support I made it through. Looking back, many good things came from the experience. Keep the faith. Persevere.
