Are there any that are tall enough for longbows, and such?

I've seen this kind of question several times. Tried one for the first time this fall. A friend let me try his blind/tent. Ceiling was too short for me with recurve. I grabbed some cut firewood pieces from camp, put several under the base of the blind base to establish clearance. Adjusted stool for "window" clearance. Done. I presume others have provided this answer previously.

X2 on the barronett. Not sure mine is a big cat but is plenty large enough for most any longbow.

Primos Club XL is 73" tall and around $120 to $140.

My Barronet Big Mike from which I shoot a 62 inch recurve works well. It is 80 inches. I shoot from stool. Standing would require bending or crouching and shooting from posture I am not used too. Even with stool I would stay near center for max height. Also, I cant the bow very little. I wouldn't want one less height.

Like others have said here, Barronett Big Cat. It's 80 inches tall and room for three people.

I enjoyed the hidden hunter blind I had until a tornado torn it up. But it wasnt a run-n-gun blind for turkey season. It's not hard to research blind specs and find the sizes.

Short answer, NO.

I have owned at least six different models including several listed in the above posts and currently own four new ones still in the boxes. For taking grandkids gun hunting you can't beat them but I have yet to find one that I am comfortable bow hunting out of.

I have learned I am more comfortable taking a long piece of camo burlap fabric with a half dozen long dowels woven into it in the woods for bow hunting. I can push the dowels into the ground and make whatever shape I need to match the surroundings and I can roll it up and tuck it under my arm and move as quick or quicker than moving any of my pop-ups. Good Day

The only blind I like is a ghost blind. 99.9% of the time brush or blowdowns work great. On snow I carry some light poly snow camo in my pack if I can’t find enough brush for a hide. I can’t stand tent blinds because of the lack of visibility.

I have a Barronett Big Mike. It has good clearance for my 60" bows . . . Here it is with my 60" Blacktail LB.

I differ from some in that one of the main reasons I use a blind is to get out of the weather, be it drizzle, wind, or snow.

Barronett Big Mike fit my needs. And my 66" longbow.

I have taken a few critters from a barronett BigMike. Lots of room even with my 32" draw... but you still have to position yourself just right... even then the animals go where you weren't planning!

Lawdy, I like the ghost blind as well, but be sure the angle is correct to the ground. If it stands up a little to straight your shining on the world. Not sure why, but shooting from inside a tent blind or any covered ground blind is difficult for me. One reason I started trying to shoot a gap style shot was due to my inability to accurately shoot from one. Seems to mess-up my internal rangefinder or something. We built some more solid fixture ground blinds on one property I get to hunt. Used livestock panels for the frame and wrapped it with ground cloth, then a couple heavy tarps over the top. I believe my "longbow" set-up is just over 80" in the center.

I posted this same thread a few months ago. I too got the Big Mike Baronett...while I need to sit to shoot my 65" RD longbow, my 60" recurve was a better fit.

There's plus & minus of course...that's been bandied about forever...but as others said, it gets me out of adverse conditions to a degree and makes clothing decisions pretty easy. Black is perfect. Laugh all you want, but in Wisconsin it gets cold in November & beyond. I pack a warm blanket for long, cold sits...big enough for a wrap around from my seat, and simple to flip off when needed.

I used to have a blind called a Penthouse. Killed a turkey out of it standing up with a 64 inch long bow. It has seen better days. Now I use a Baronette. I think it's 82 inches high.

Every year on this site you see a thread from a guy looking to buy a short bow to fit in his blind. That's going to cost you 500+. You could buy a new blind for 200+!!!

Oh, by the way...regarding our winter conditions...cut a fairly stout center pole to brace when not in use. It'll keep it from a center height collapse in any significant snowfall.

Rallison I too use the blanket trick/2X4 for bracing. Didn't help with the amount of trees down do to the heavy snow lol.

I recently got a Barronett Prowler 300 and coincidentally hunted out of it for the first time yesterday.

It is 80" tall and there is plenty of height to shoot my 64" bow when sitting down. I think it is advertised as a 2 man blind but it would be cramped for two but plenty of room for one. Don't know how wide it is but I can sit on my stool and lay my bow across my knees and it doesn't touch the side walls.

Best part is was the price - $99.00.

I got mine from Amazon for $89 but they are sold out.

I have tried hunting from a pop up but can’t get the clearance I need with a 64” bow @30” draw

Wish I could find one that works for me

I bought a $200 Ghost blind just for this reason this year but found it to be Cumbersome to tote in the woods.

I bought a m-300 tree seat, Due to heath reasons I can’t sit on ground or uncomfortable places long anymore. The tree seat is lite weight and very comfortable and have really enjoyed being able to set up at random in most any location, I am learning to use natural cover along with it instead of trying to use a blind.

I set up under a Birch tree since they hold their leaves well into winter in my area had a 3.5 age buck walk within 30 yards. He knew I was there but couldn’t figure me out. With a little more practice and use of available dead brush pulled up around me I think it will be a great and convenient way to hunt.

I know for sure ground hunting with a trad bow is a new level in hunting excitement and being out there using just what’s available is even more so.

Barronet Big Mike Blinds are ideal for my purposes and the window configurations are quite versatile. Few blinds are as conducive for lengthy bows IMO.

Another one here that likes the Barronett Big Mike.Patched mine up & still in good shape. There are repair kits for the Barronetts.Don't know if other blinds have parts & material to repair them.

Barronett big cat. It can double as a tent!! LOL. I shoot from a chair, a comfy one too. And used a 66” bow last year . Killed my deer no trouble.
