Does anyone shoot a Robertson Wolfer or Coywolf? If so, was wondering what you think of the “natural cant” design of the bow.

I have owned both, they are both good shooters. Bow Bolt System is a must as it adds weight to the riser with the micarta, as they are typically 58-60" bows. Pretty durable, and pleasantly quiet and quick.

I have vague recollections of owning one of the original numbered Wolfers, but I may only have borrowed it for a while. Rooty and I were doing so much trading around that time it is all a blur. It had been camo dipped but not, according to Dick, by them.

I really wish I had that bow right now because I am in full on gypsy mode, with a trip planned to Italy.

I think that no bowyer has ever been in a better position to build a bow like that than Dick. The natural cant was not even a factor when shooting it.

I’ve been a Robertson fan, and friend, since before he made his first bow. I own and hunt with his Original #45/70 bow-bolt TD Wolfer. The best recurve I have ever owned and shot. The best $1700.00 I ever spent; sold 5 high quality bows to buy it new. I just bought another used Robertson TD. As far as the natural “can’t” design, it is perfect for me because of the way I grip my bow, and that I naturally can’t my bows when I shoot. It is not for everyone, If you can try one, before you buy one, you will know whether it is for you. Both models are awesome shooters, and can be drawn smoothly to at least 30”, or more. They will shoot as well , or better than, anything out there.

They are kind of like this 1957 Black Hawk Warrior created by Cravotta Brothers Archery of East McKeesport, Pa.

I have two of his bows now. I have owned four of them and have had great satisfaction from him.

I had a Wolfer that was dipped in orange camo so I had it re dipped in a green camo. I wished I still had it. It was a great little bow but accuratcy does not compare to the three bows I shoot now.

George,I really like that table. Looks like original Long Leaf Pine flooring. Good looking bow also. John VanHoy

I think Dick's work is fine, but Yote's work is suspect. A friend ended up recutting the string grooves on a custom order.

I have had a few Roberston bows....Montana Falcon, Vision Falcon,Fatal Styk, Primal Styk and Wolfer. Bows have always been fantastic and Dick has always been great builder and always had time to talk with me over phone.

Shot my bear few years ago with one of the original numbered Wolfers...loves a heavy arrow and soooo smooth even at long draws.

keep em sharp,

Ron Herman
