Just a heads up to let everyone know that AutoZone has the VHT matte clear wheel finish on clearance now. $7.00 reg. $8.99. I have found this to be the best, easiest to apply and most durable finish I have ever used. I've never tried the gloss, since I don't like a high-gloss finish, and I don't think it is on sale anyway. I hope AZ doesn't stop selling it, but I'm sure it will be available elsewhere.

It is a good, clear, hard finish, how is it holding up with the flexing of the limbs? Anyone had it in use for a while? >>>----> Ken

I've been using it on selfbows for several years. No issues at all with it.

Thanks Osage. I think I will give it a try next time. >>>---->Ken

Ive used both the gloss and the matte finish. The matte seems to lay down and finish out easier. Much easier for me anyway.

HH, when you put the true oil over it, do you do any prep such as light sanding or just rub some TO on?

Thanks. I usually spray about 5-6 thin coats of the VHT, so I was wondering if the True Oil would dry properly on top of it. I may have to give this a try.

Has anyone tried it as a finish for wood arrows? I like spar urethane but am always open to something new and better.

I've used it on snake skins and never had a problem with it cracking or flaking off. But I don't shoot bows in 20 degree weather either.

Yep ours cleared it out and stopped selling it. It pretty much ruined my day. I found something just as good though, made by duplicolor sold by o'riely's.
