I have had one since 1975. It's a great carp bow. I don't shoot it much so I cannot give you good information. Mine has green fiberglass limbs. 50 lbs and I thought it was a little slow. So I bought a 55 lb Bear Grizzly the following year.

I have two of them. They came out in 73'. Draw weights, depending on riser, are 25 to 50 pounds. They are stable, good shooting bows but nothing fast. I took my first deer with one in 75'.

Had one in high school i bought new in 1976. it shot ok but a bit spongey and slow. sold it after a summer of mowing grass and bought a grizzly to hunt with. the grizz just shot better. At the time it was a step up from a 35# one piece fiberglass starter bow but just didnt shoot near as well as a laminate. would be a good fish bow.

I don't buy bows because they are "speed demons"....or "slow"...or whatever else you label them with. Twenty years ago you couldn't give the away, now folks are getting interested. They have a niche and if you like them you may still get a good price on one. Trouble is, the more they get touted here, the more the price goes up, and the 76'er is still a solid fiberglass limb bow...not laminated and was made to be entry level for a takedown.

I've had one since my Dad bought it '76 or '77. Killed dozens of carp with it as a teenager and hunted deer with it my first archery season. It has a mildly twisted lower limb that I need to attend to yet. I had it out a few weeks ago and shot it. It is a very quiet bow and I was laying them in there out to thirty yards. If it's the only bow I owned I could make it work.

Spend some time with one, they grow on you!

Ok thanks for all the input. I have a chance(slim)to get one but not sure is its bear. The bow has been painted but you can see a red riser and blue limbs.<><

I got one at a flea market in trade.35#@28" 5 8 inches, too short for me,perfect for wife.I picked up a longer riser and made it 64" .It shoots a Easton tribute 1816 with authority, legal in NY State to hunt.I shoot decent groups with it.I really like it,a great bow to throw in the truck and not worry too much about

This isn't it, but my first real bow was just like it! I bought this one several years back. Shot this turkey and a few fish with it. I'd hunt deer with it now, but for the life of me I can't get an arrow to fly good like I did that year I turkey hunted with it! Just a little too short for my draw length (31").

My riser is brown. I think it cost me $25 for that bow from KMart. Which was a fair amount of money in 1975 when I had just got out of college and I had only been working for a month.

I have a red, white and blue 76er my dad bought me when I was 14. I was a pretty good shot with it back then. Originally it was 35# but it is only around 25 or so now. Not a good bow to shot anymore but I keep it for the memories.
