Is Dave Beeler still making bows?<><

From: Fritz

Nope He still owes me money for a bow he never built. I heard he fell on hard times wouldn’t return my calls even sent him a letter it’s a shame they were great shooting bows and well made, I’d buy one if I ever see one up for sale .

There’s a pawn shop here in the town I live in that has one in it. I told the owner of the shop if he ever decided to get rid of it to let me know. He said he thought he was going to hang onto it.

If you want a bow similar in look to a Beeler and equal or exceeding in performance and beauty, consider trying a Java Man Tanjavur. One of Greggs models which deserves more attention, boy howdy smooth and fast!!

Really sorry to hear that Fritz. I used to chat with Dave all the time years ago- really liked the man. Hope he can turn everything right way up again. JayInOz

JayInOz. That happened about 2 1/2 years ago. I sent him a $300.00 deposit and $50.00 worth of feathers. We talked on the phone a few times and were looking at getting together to do a hunt together since we only live about 150 miles a part . Then one day he sent me a message and said he wouldn’t have time to build my bow and would send my deposit back plus money for the feathers , about a week later I received a check for $100.00 and after that he cut all communication with me .

Looks like White Wolf Archery's "Wind Warrior" is very much the same as Dave's bows. You may want to check them.

Had one of Dave's bows once, nice little Osage. Always enjoyed talking with him. Tried to e-mail him a couple times when I heard had fallen on hard times. Hope all is well.

I ordered a bow once from a well known bowyer on the west coast. Had sent him $100 deposit, with a 6 month wait. A week later we buried a child so I had the expense and hardship of dealing with that. I called him and canceled, I told him the situation. He seen to have an attitude and chose not to refund my money which was the least of my worries. Different situation but sometimes you just have to accept the loss even though you have the loss and the disappointment in people.

Some folks don't understand what problems can overcome a person or family. Full pockets can give a person feelings of comfort that a lot of folks just don't have. Many folks today don't have to struggle, but there are a lot that do struggle everyday and many don't even have enough food to eat in this same country that has so much to offer. Be kind to people and especially when you don't know of their own capacity.
