Can anybody recommend a ladderstand that is easy to shoot out of with tradbow. I set my hang on stands up for close shots, out to 15yds max. Seems like I have trouble with lower limb clearance out of the few ladderstands I have been in at these closer ranges.

Check out Walmart. I bought 3 for me and my boys. You can leave the gun rest off and tie yourself into the tree. Only about $70. I shoot a self bow and no problems with it I did have to add a few washers to it to get the spacing right. Goes up to 16 feet high. TY

actually the cheaper ones with fewer features seem to be best. i use the ones from dicks. ($60) i used one of my buddy’s the other day it was a ‘comfort zone’ not sure where its from but it had great clearance and was not expensive. the other extreme is double wides and they give you tons of space and clearance. ive sat in a couple and really liked them. theyre pricey and heavy though.

I use the Field and Stream Lookout deluxe stand from Dicks. Leave off the side rails or put them on upside down, and I have good clearance for shooting a longbow. This stand has a flip up seat and is comfortable for long sits. I can put one up by myself, but better with two.

Basic $59 ladder stand. Wide open :-) It's my favorite stand. JF

Here, after Christmas a place called Menards has a sale on their stands. Usually the cheapest is the best to shoot out of. Once I caught the sale perfect. I bought 6 at 36 bucks each. At other times I got them for 48 bucks. I think they're called 'Rivers Edge".

With a solid installation, most of the cheaper ladder stands I've used seem to work fine. My only recommendation would be to make sure you get one where the seat flips up out of the way.

Rivers edge are good. I only buy the stands with the mesh fabric seats now. They are much more comfortable than the metal seats. I plan on upgrading my stands over the next 2 years.

I buy the cheapest ones I can find. They're all I hunt out of now. I usually stand on the seat during peak times. Sometimes for a couple of hours at a stretch.Killed a lot of deer out of 15' ladder stands.

I'm in the market for a new one BUT I will not buy one with a small platform. Can't even gun hunt comfortably out of one of those, let alone stand and deliver with a bow! So most of the 'El Cheapo' stands are off my shopping list.
Waiting for after-season clearance sales.

I have used multiple brands but leave the gun rest and arm rests off. Flip up seat is a nice feature.

A bulldozer ripping out fencelines got my last ladderstand! I always had good luck with those simple 60.00-70.00 $ ones. Havn't found one around here anywhere in years.

The 'big' store chains sometimes have stands on sale. Wallyworld recently had stands on sale, just for instance.
I'm not planning to buy just for price, comfort and (as I said before) platform size matter to me, but I *will* be monitoring prices at several sites.

I’ve only sat in a few of the older cheaper models. My biggest issues were always worrying about my bottom limb of my 66” to 68” longbows coming in contact with the ladder itself or the side rails running up to the seat. Maybe it’s becau of setting up for shots of 15 yds or less creating a steeper shot angle. Hang on shave not been an issue to shoot out of since climbing sticks are off to a side.
Maybe I just need some instruction on setting up for the shot.

I have a 15ft Stealth ladder stand that is exactly like the 15ft RE646 RIVERS EDGE CLASSIC 1-MAN. It has served me well over the years.
