Aidan my 13 year old grandson got his first buck and I had the privilege of sitting with him in our ground blind when it happened. He has been bowhunting since he was 10 and got a doe the first year but stuck out last year holding out for a buck till right at the of season. He then had a miss. This buck came by with lots of light left as the rut had just started. He shoots a trad-teck ILF riser with Uukha 40# limbs and draws about 24 inches. Gold tip 600 spine with 100 grain brass insert and 150 grain Wensal Woodsman. Because of his short draw I only let him hunt when there is snow on the ground. I could tell the shot was about 10 inches to far back so waited till morning. Thankfully we had snow and after a long trail found him. Did rough score and came out to 137 gross. I had to wait till I was in my 50's to get my first P and Y. So happy for him!!

As a side note the kid can really shoot. Took him down to Colorado last winter for a session with Tom Klum. He is now shooting with back tension and a feather touch to the nose as a release aid. Inside of 20 yards he is shooting better than most adults in the club. He shoots better than me for sure.
