How are the replacement materials working out. I need a new spool or two and wonder if the deacon replacement stuff performs the same

B-55 has been around now for quite awhile now so it has a history for those of you looking to something to replace Dacron. String material has evolved significantly over the years. I much prefer the low stretch materials myself. You can still find B-50 on Ebay and it will likely be around for awhile since they made so much of it.

I use B55 on my vintage bows and like it just fine. Even seems to stretch a bit less than b50.

We do not stock B55, but will order some to stock. Thanks for replies, will get a spool or two as son as it comes in. Just wondering how it compared and if there was anything else out there as replacement

Stuk -
BCY B-500 is the direct replacement for B-50. B-55 is less stretchy/creepy, the difference is negligible.
Viper out.

Brownell had just a fraction of the string market. B55 has probably outsold B50 by a factor of 5 and most likely much more. So it is proven material for those wishing to use it. B500 hasn't been made in years.

I've used B-55 probably since about the time it became available.
I've always been more than pleased with.
My only gripe is that the red still isn't colorfast and I end up with red hands when I use it. But I also understand the difficulty of making red colorfast as well.

Brownell archery company is out of business. They announced it several months ago.
