Hico...reducing weight will not ruin his bow. It didn’t ruin mine it made it more enjoyable to shoot.

Bear Archery likely will not reduce the weight, But the only way to know for sure is to contact them.

One thing to keep in mind is that you can only reduce the weight by about 5lbs max. I would suggest trying to sell or trade it for a lower weight bow.
But if all you need is around 5 lbs I would get in contact with Ken Butler (2 bears). He did a great job on my widow.
Good luck!

Selling a Bear Montana should be fairly easy, the harder part will be shipping it safely. If it was me, I'd sell it and buy another one of the poundage I want. But then again, I'd go ahead and buy a new one first, then try to sell the present one.

It will cost you around $40 shipping both ways, plus labor and it will need refinishing. Easier to and cheaper to get another bow.

My wife had her 44# Whip reduced to 40#, I think it was either 75 or $100, plus one way shipping. No problem at all for the bow. (Dan did the reduction). Five pounds shouldn't be a problem, I'd get in touch with 2 Bears as suggested. A few other guys on this site could do it pretty easily as well if that doesn't work for you.

Trap limbs that reduces and looks rather cool.
You should try to get another bow the cost of doing this would be a lot higher than a lower weight bow possibly.
You can also do this yourself if your brazin enough to try. I know guys that have but I'd be to afraid I'd screw it up myself.
