Luck is what you make it after you set up for the shot. Got to be in it to win it and be shooting. Steady at the shot.

I got out for a couple of hours yesterday. After I took my wife to work. Unortunately her health issues have put a real damper on hunting season. But I honestly didn't expect to get out at all, so better than expected.

Forty-six weeks to go until next year!

Making my way out to head home for a little while. Tried to sneak up on a decent 8 pointer but didn't notice the little button buck 60 yards away and he busted me. About a dozen doe but no shot opportunities.. try again this evening for one last hoorah!

Clydebow, we also have a month after Christmas and a 2 week rifle season that we can carry our bows.

Yes, last of the early season, which is still more than what we started with some decades ago. You guys with long seasons can be thankful you don't have over 300,000 resident bowhunters or you would have shorter seasons also. As for totals, Illinois has 306,000 licensed hunters, Pa. has 975,000 licensed hunters. Just one of the reasons. ;)
