A few weeks back I ordered a Samik Sage recurve. It came with mismarked limbs (ordered 40# and it pulled 47# at my 27" draw)

So.... the seller immediately shot me a new set of limbs the were on the money. Cool!

A week later I ordered a 35# set which works really well. Love the bow but it is loud (to me) having shot ASL's for several years.

Somewhere I recently read there is a good string type for these bows (mebbee here)

Suggestions please

lots of good string makers around.

i have been using flemish strings by a guy on ebay "stilldub" with great results.

60x makes a great endless loop strings if you want to go in that direction.

I use D-97 Flemish strings. Many things make a bow loud that have nothing to do with string material. Brace highth, light arrows etc...

Order one from SBD, Silent But Deadly. uMake sure you tell him its for a Sage. You won't believe how good that string is. Your bow will be faster, quieter and more accurate. I have killed two deer with my Sage with this string already this year. Further I am only drawing 35#, and shooting right through them.

Thanks guys!

I have used SBD strings on my ASLs these past two years and really like the strings my friend Roy made me last year...nice!

Thumper: "thick as a rope" you nailed it!! LOL

Stilldub is a Leatherwall member too and makes great strings. You can PM him here or catch him on Ebay. I have several of his strings, an have one on a Sage right now, it's BCY-X and is a great string....and plenty quiet.

I bought one for my granddaughter and it did come with a horrible string which I threw away. I made her a Flemish 12 strand D97 and put cute red wooly puff ball silencers on it. She loved it.

I got 10fps jump from their string to mine, which was a 10 strand FF D97. I also cut bicycle inner tube to make pads in the limb pockets. With those 2 changes, and powder puffs on the bow string the bow is much more quiet now.
