It's been my experience that acceptable flight performance can be achieved using 2-Fletch arrows if?...

1. The shafts themselves are rather light...(like 6gpi and under)

2. Your release is super clean and consistent.

3. Your bare shafts already fly like bullets.

other than that?...2-Fletch is a recipe for increasing fliers.

How do they fly with NO fletch at all??

Start there if you can, or (JMO) stick with 3 until you get there.

Once you start messing with the steering end, the tuning issue will rear its head. It simply shows that your arrows are likely borderline spine. A well tuned bow will work with very little fletching. That said, some of us like 3 feathers...just because ;)

Occasionally I'll lose a feather off a 3 fletch and keep shooting the arrow with just 2 left on. I can't tell the difference.

2 fletch arrows have to be tuned for correct flight and clearance just like 3 fletch or bare shafts. If they aren't properly tuned, they aren't likely to fly well.

Spider2, tail high, if it is that, is a nock point issue. Just move it down a tad till it goes straight.

I put some tall 5" 2 fletch on some hickory shafts I had. Flew OK, just made quite of noise due to height.

quite a bit of noise

My epxerience is like Kodiak's. Two feathers at 60 degrees work well--like the tail surfaces of a Beachcraft Bonanza.

I'm just a simple guy but you said 3 fletch flies great. Well there you go.
