Shot this yote with my yew selfbow a few days ago.

What a thrill! great shot. They are one smart elusive animal. The last one I shot was a female with a rifle and she stunk so bad I fiqured she rolled in every dung pile she could. Never smelt something that bad.

Bea, did you make your Yew bow?

From: Bea
Date: 01-Nov-19

I didnt make the bow, it was given to me by a fella I guided many years ago.

It really is a shooter. I shoot it as good as I do my widow, mind you, less snap, and I need closer shots, but I take it out a few times each fall.

Some thing special about a self bow . Tan the hide ,and make a nice quiver.Good shooting on that one.

Thanks! it never gets old hunting with a self bow !

Awesome. Nice shot to. Could you tell a little more of the hunt? I've shot many with my shotgun. Never with my selfbows. Flung a stone point arrow at one that was chasing a doe once. Was running full speed and zigzagging. Was really something I won't ever forget.

I'd be happy to.....first a bit of info . I'll just post a link to my little spot on the interweb where I jot down some stories. There's a good collection there. 90% trad bow hunting. There are other pages on the website where I kinda recommend outfitters..but I will only link the page with hunting stories to avoid free advertising. Not my intention. I sincerely hope this is ok...if not..the admin can delete...I'm ok with that.

Hard to do. I've spent a fair amount of time in the woods and the closest I got was a near miss at about 30 yards 3 years ago.
