No marks anywhere....66" nock to nock....heavy leather fromed grip, thin black material on back....small knots about 12" from both tips, extra wood left for support. Finest wooden longbow I've seen.

I would string it up and let it sit overnight. Then I would start exercising the limbs to get them used to bending again. And then I'd shoot it.
That's what it was made for after all.

Wouldn't let it set! Looks like there is no set in the limbs now, be a shame to put one in. I would string it and short draw a few times and then draw to my anchor.

Hope that the BOW can be used again? Other than grip. Looks GREAT!

With FDP, cautiously at first, but heck ya. Shoot it. When you get a feel for the bow let us know your thoughts on the specs, Looks to have a really nice profile, CONGRATS..

I had some old old longbows similar to yours and shot fine. wood looks like osage being so dark, but it could be the aging finish.
I also like your L.L. Bean chair. I have two I want to restore. John

String it up and shoot it. I'd wear some eye protection at first though, just in case.

It looks like osage. What do you think it's backed with? Thin black what? Maybe stained/dyed rawhide? Possibly that backing material has something to do with it having no set. Judging from the wear on the arrow pass it certainly looks like it's been shot a lot. Really nice find. Agree with Larry.... string it up and take it slow.
