I met Grant on Leatherwall many years ago. In 2011, when I moved to Washington DC I was able to meet and shoot with him. We kept in touch over the years. This week his son, LTC Patton, is changing command, so Grant was at Fort Campbell. He shot me a note and asked if I was available for lunch.
He brought me a beautiful leather arm guard. What a wonderful man.Grant spent 10 years in the Marine Corps then 15 in the Army National Guard. It was great seeing you, brother. Thank you again.

At last back home in Virginia. Thanks for lunch Jimmy, it was good talking to you again after such a long time. One correction to your post. It is my Son-in-Law who is in the Army. My Daughter was at Cpt when they decided for her to get out and have children. His next stop is Calif. for 10 months before war college and catching you at full Bird. Perhaps next time we can fling a few arrows. The arm guard. my pleasure, enjoy. Grant
